I can't find the file I installed. In ICS I used ES File Explorer, went to system/apps and it was named google search. With CM10, I go into system/app and there is no file by that name. Any suggestions??

There is a file called velvet.apk. When I click on it, it says my phone is set to block installation from unknown sources. Would this be the file?? Also, before I installed this, I changed the name of one of the files(like it said in the instructions from ics) from apk to bak. I cant remember what the file was exactly named. I did find a file that is named quicksearchbox.bak, do you think this is the file that needs to be changed back to apk?? Thanks for your help

Another question, I have turned my volumes all the way up but when I make a call and put it on speaker, I can hardly hear it, anyone else having that problem. Is there a way to fix this?? Thanks

It seems like I am having trouble with my sound on all levels. When I am on a call, I can hardly hear the person through the ear piece. Its happened to several different people I have talked to so I know its not the call. When I hit the volume up or down buttons, the volume bar shows up on the screen and it moves but the sound coming through the phone stays the same. It also happens on speaker and also when I try to listen to songs too. I just rebooted to my backup of midnights rom and I have no problem with the sound, I can change the volume and it works, which makes me believe this is rom related. Is there anyway to fix this??

The only bugs I found with audio today is, you are unable to adjust the incall volume or speakerphone volume. All other audio should work without flaw. I will update the OP in a bit.

I'm now running this rom full time, because the lack of a camera/gallery is a fine temporary tradeoff compared to the hourly random reboots I was getting with cm9. I haven't had a single one on cm10.

Speaking of the lack of a working gallery, does that have something to do with the camera?

Also, I've noticed that my custom notification sounds don't show up in the selection menu. They're in a notifications folder and cm9 found them just fine.

I may be wrong but I think only two are similar. cm10 by JMZ and the one by dastin1015 of which he has two, but different kernals. They both are built from source. JMZ is more for the EVO V 4G(Virgin Mobile) and dastin1015 is geared more towards EVO 3D(Sprint). Although you can Flash either to either phone.

AND if I was a DEV who spent untold hours building US a ROM, from source, I would take offense at "half finished ones".

JMZ's builds can only be flashed if you've downgraded your HBOOT. Essentially turning your phone into an Evo 3D. You can flash JMZ's build, but you can also flash JB AOKP build, orginmellas build (he has like 2), and dastin's build. They all have pretty much the same things working.

Don't you think it'd make sense to have these great minds be turned into one so that things can be done faster? Look at MTDEV, they're one big dev team and they're getting stuff done.

Aokp is not cyanogenmod. Orginmella has stopped development on his. Dastin is for evo 3d.

AOKP is basically like CM9, except you can customize it more.

You can choose to customize it to hell, or you can keep it looking exactly like CM9.

OK, so let me try this again.

1. AOKP is NOTHING like CM. CM basis is stability then functionality. AOKP is pink unicorns and throw anything into it and instability.

2. Mazda's and orginmella's roms are not built from source. They are complete rom ports. (Do not take this as their work is less than anybody else's, I am purely stating facts)

3. I do talk to mazda and dastin. Myself and dastin are working together to try and get both versions aligned to CM standards. Myself and deck are working together to get both versions into CM nightlies.

4. MMS and carrier label is why there are 2 diff versions. Grant it my MMS doesn't work either but thats not the point here. So IF we get these mainstreamed then there will still be 2 diff versions that require downgraded hboot.

In closing, there are really only 2 REAL CM10 roms out there. Mine and Dastin's. One for Sprint, one for VM.

And you will never change my opinion that AOKP is NOWHERE near the same league as CM

Just letting Jmz or anyone else who might care that the latest 9/9/12 build is named as a php file instead of a zip. If you simply rename it from download.php to download.zip it flashes fine.

Just thought I'd share that. Thanks to Jmz for all of their great work. Certainly one of the most stable cm10 roms I've used on a device without an official jelly bean update.
