Root {DISCONTINUED}MegaTron 6.2.5 (Updated 7/13/13)

7 hours running with the update 6.0.1 on phone #1 and 2 running smooth so far, except the 4-7 (sec) delay when opening some apps. No more (force closes) while watching videos online and the games load up regular, (Cannot play video) gone ... maybe i just need it to reinstall the Rom ... thanks Chev, Mav and everyone that worked on this Rom, awesome job.

Yes you flash it in CWM like normal... :)

hey thanks for the quick response. i went ahead and flashed as a zip from /sdcard/goomanager/ and it went smooth but since i don't have backups of my apps, just a backup of the rom, i was wondering if someone could point me into the direction of a free alternative to TiBU so i don't have to keep reinstalling everything each time our wonderful devs roll out an update.

As long as it's for an update AND you have not been instructed to install fresh, you can go into cwm and select -backup and restore> advanced restore> restore data

That will restore your data/texts/Call logs/etc. Then (like slayer said :) ) resetup your links2sd and all your apps will reappear too

Fooking awesome guys, I've been waiting for this rom for months and it's been worth it. Love it so far. The only question I have is could you do an update that includes the google apps? I don't mind having to redownload them but google talk isnt in the play store and I can never find a good apk of it and use it often.
Other than that...best rom I've had on this phone to date!!!!!

For all you with the question about about apps.... You have to do a fresh install as stated in the instructions. BUT yes there is s but... If you go to your computer where you saved the sdcard info as instructed you can go to sdcard/app_manager/app backup/user apps, all the apps you currently had on your previous install of whatever rom you were running will be there. Just transfer the apps back to your sdcard/App_manager/app backup/user app and then hit the file to reinstall. That's what I do and everything works just fine.

Just another way to reinstall apps without having to download.

Now the only issue being is if you moved apps to /system/app (like I do) previously they wont be there.

Also on the same file (sdcard/app manager/ app backup) you will also find a file called system apps. In which any system app you had previously is there.

1. Must have root access file manager like root explorer.
2. Copy whatever file.
3. Moved it to /system/app.
4. Reboot.

The app will reinstall itself.

Just to help out. Not trying to trump anyone. Just the method I use to save myself from having to redownload all my apps.

If you already have the notification skip 1 and 2

1. Go into GooManager app (Goo.IM)
2. Check for Updates "and it'll pop up with the notification at that point"
3. Download the file (reacommend using your Wifi is faster and smother)
4. Click on it after done, it well ask you if you have an "OpenRecoveryScript"
5. Click "I already have one installed" since you have CWM
6. Select zip(s) to Flash (the update)
7. Click "Order & flash selected"
8. Never mind selecting "Wipe cache/davilk cache partition, Create backup or Wipe data (factory reset)" this have to be done manually
9. Click "Flash" from there it will take you to CWM
10. Create backup , Wipe cache/davilk cache partition, and Wipe data (factory reset)
11. Select "install zip from sdcard"
12. Select "choose zip from sdcard"
13. Navigate to "/sdcard/goomanager/"
14. Select the "update"
15. Select "yes"
16. Select "reboot system now" when its done
17. Open market
18. Download and reset "Link2sd" (optional if you are not partitioning the sd card)
19. Restore your apps
20. Reflash your "Theme" again
21. Done "enjoy the new update"

Follow this instructions @ your own risk if you chose do do so. I'M NOT AN EXPERT like the Megatron developers double check with them before following this instructions...

2. Not sure if i understand you here.. Just slide to the left or right on any notification and you will see the animation where it starts to move with your finger.

4. It should change to white when fully connect and gray when partially connected.

In ICS or Jellybean, when there is a notification in the pull down menu, you can clear an individual notice when by swiping it to the right or to the left instead of having to hit clear to clear every item. So say I have three non ongoing notifications but want to keep one, I could swipe the two to get rid of them. This would leave the third without opening any of them. This doesn't eliminate the option to select it to view.
Its no biggie; I thought that was what it was going for and i wouldnt care either way as this rom is friggin sweet already.

edit: my bad, it works just not all the time..

And oh, ok, I just couldnt tell. Is there a way that i could change just that setting to make it blue or green (preferably blue as that is ICS)?

Hey bro Chev put up a link to the Removed APKs in a previous post, I'll see if I can find it and repost it for ya... :p (Gtalk is in that Removed APKs.zip he posted)

EDIT: Here it is: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/59319257/Removed%20apks.zip

Yeah by the time I saw that posting, I had already found gtalk.apk in 4share.
Next is this though, for some reason I don't have the stock android keyboard, just swype and I can't stand swype. I tried a couple of keyboards from the play store and none of them are working. Is the android keyboard on that list of removed apk's?
If so then I'll dl it.

Edit:
ok, so I downloaded the removed apk's and the android keyboard isn't there.
So does anyone know how to get the stock keyboard back? I really don't like swype.

Did you try looking in your sdcard/app manager/app backup/system app for com.android.inputmethod.Latin.apk?

Found it, thanks.

Edit:
Ok so I followed the instructions given above and it did not work. I downloaded the zip for the removed apks and found the latinime.apk and the voice dialer(I use bluetooth). I moved them to system/app and rebooted, then clicked them to install them. Chose to install when prompted, then the notice came up that application was not installed.
Not sure what I did wrong but.....
Any help would be appreciated.

dude, just stop using titanium lol how hard can that be. you have to do everything manually fresh install from the market at first and then back it.

Its not hard at all. In fact I fresh installed pretty much all my apps. I just decided to use it because I had my home screen organized but after 10 mins of it lagging I decided to install it of the play store.

OK i think the UI for the keyboard that comes with this rom looks good. Although with TU's built in keyboard I rarely use it. Except when I am driving i use it to do voice-to-text. But I'm having an issue. When i first tried using it, clicking the microphone icon in the On-screen keyboard just made a click noise and nothing else. I went and found google's voice search, installed it and got my home screen voice search working. Now when i press the Microphone icon, it comes up as if it's going to work, records my voice, but doesn't put any text, into the message. I'm going to keep digging, but if anyone could help out that'd be cool too. Ty :)

Try uninstalling google goice search and try installing it again. Add the widget to your homescreen make sure your on a good 3g signal or good wifi signal and tap the microphone and try speaking again. You can also go to settings and select voice input and out and make some edits tere and see if it works.

Does anyone else have problems with the play music app? The stock music apps works ok for me.

I had a problem with it on CTMod, but I haven't really had a chance to mess with it on Megatron yet (I will when I go to work here in a couple hours, though). What problem are you having with it, exactly?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On another note, I extracted the audio notifications from the Verizon ROM I had lying around. I figured I would include the whole thing so people can use some of the sounds for their own phones if they like. ;)

Verizon notifications - Just copy and paste the ones you want to "/sdcard/media/audio/<whatever>" or "/system/media/audio/<whatever>", where "<whatever>" is what you want to use the file for, then change the notification settings for whatever you want to use the sound for. For example, if I want to use one of the alarm sounds for a text alert, then I would move the "alarm.ogg" <--(not a real file) to /sdcard/media/audio/notifications. Then, I would go into the text messaging settings, and change my notification sound to "alarm". Just a side note, I've noticed occasionally that the name of the file sometimes won't match the name Android gives it when looking through the sounds list. So in our example, "alarm.ogg" may turn to "Ringing Bell" when we look for it in the text message settings. If that happens, just look for any that appear new. ;)

@Chev: As for the bootup sound, I recommend "Droid" and "Droid_X2_Alert" in the "notifications" folder, and "Corrosion" in the "ringtones" folder, just to name a few (there are a bunch of good ones to choose from, so I'll let you decide ;) ).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, before going to sleep last night, I happened to come across an update to the Xperia launcher. It adds a few more options (such as the number of rows and columns on the home screens and app drawer), but the one that really caught my eye is the ability to backup and restore the homescreen setup and launcher settings. Note that the program only allows for one backup at a time, so if you're coming from CTMod and you used the backup feature there, then if you install this and create a launcher backup with Megatron, it will overwrite the CTMod backup. And I DON'T recommend restoring the CTMod launcher backup in Megatron (let's just not open that can of worms, k? :) )

Xperia Launcher update - Create a CWM backup before installing, just to be safe. Navigate to where the .apk downloads to, and run it. It will give you a warning about modifying a system app. Hit "OK" to proceed anyway, or "Cancel" if you'd rather not risk borking your freshly silky-smooth Megatron'ed Ultra (courtesy of Chevanlol360 and Mavrikmeercat). I think the phone automatically requests a reboot after installing the updated launcher, but I highly recommend a manual reboot if not. All credit for the app goes to ra3al over at the xda Developer forums.
