Hi people, I was just wandering if it was a stupid idea to use my nexus 7 while I charge it? I'm not sure if this would have a bad affect on the battery life once it is fully charged. I leave my galaxy S2 on charge over night and this has seriously messed up its battery life so I have learned not to leave anything on charge over night but an answer to my initial question would be great! :D
Thanks

You raise 2 different questions. Unless the device or charger is defective, I've not messed up batteries in modern hardware. All my stuff sits on the charger for long periods.

Using while charging is the norm for me also.
I used to leave things on charge over night every night but now my gs2 battery life has dropped so much it would be lucky to last a day with light use :S to be fair, I'm not using the charger that came with it anymore as I lost this so could that be the problem? Thanks for all the help! Oh and I try not to be clumsy ;) Hehe

I have used my wife's e-book charger, the Nexus charger, my computer, a cheap car charger, a USB outlet on a car "thingy" with my cable, and 3 Motorola chargers. With the computer, charging seems to take longer. The Motorola and Nexus seem to be really close ... Moto rated 1.5A, Nexus 2.0A.

The "official" USB limit is 0.5A ... and I've never researched how higher limits are negotiated.

What do you mean by "messed up"?

I've thrown my phone on the charger at bedtime for years and remove it in the morning. DroidX and Galaxy Nexus.... neither one has had an issue.

Were you using the stock charger and cable? The only charger's I'm aware of that caused problems were some cheap automotive 12v ones that might overcharge the battery. (Warning sign: if the battery gets hot while charging)
