I used to get notifications just fine for received emails in my Mail app (which I use for gmail). I didn't change any settings, but now it no longer notifies me when I get a new email unless I actually go into the app so it downloads. I'm totally perplexed! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Is it refreshing at all? Mine will stop refreshing after a few days or weeks. If you go into setting and change the frequency of downloads it will start workng again.

I've been having similar issues with Gmail as well, except it's in regards to any FB email notifications. I'll see that I have notifications if I log into FB, but I don't get the emails informing me from 2 minutes to upwards of 2 hours... Rather irritating.

If you are signed into Facebook, you may not get email notifications. I can't remember the exact reason for it, but it had something to do with Facebook seeing that you are already logged and not needing to notify you of anything.

The option for this is under the account settings--> mobile tab of your FB account. It gives an option for SMS while logged in, but not sure if it works for email notifications.

Is there a reason you prefer the HTC Mail app over the Gmail app? I use the Gmail app and it pushes new e-mail almost instantly... no refresh needed. I'm not sure of what settings the other app uses because I don't use it of course... just letting you know you don't have to worry about it at all with the Gmail app, if you are interested :)

Just re-read the first post. I'm actually using the Gmail app and am not getting notifications. Settings seem to be correct. Sometimes I get them, sometimes I don't, and sometimes I get a notification that's a few days old.

I thought he was using the HTC Mail app too ... guess we were wrong. To answer your question though, I use the HTC Mail app for gmail because my main email account isnt gmail. I have 2 comcast accounts running though the HTC Mail app, so I just had gmail run through it too.
