Not able to send or receive MMS

I'm on Sprint and I don't understand why I can't send or receive pictures through a text. I don't get any error message but the people I send a picture to never receive it and when someone sends me a picture in a text I never receive it. I cut the resolution on my phone down to 1mb but it didn't help. Any ideas?

Don't bother to call, email, or contact Sprint. I had a voicemail promising the update on the 23rd. When that didn't happen I called and got told it was a problem with the "htc" network, which dosen't exist. Then I got the same answer from Executive services, who balked at the concept of excanging my hero for any other phone that would allow me to use the mms I'm paying for. Handcent worked for a day or so then it stopped too. They are going to tell you to master reset your phone, which is not a solution or a bandaid it's their way of saying we don't know go get lost.

In spite of the previous post, you may want to call customer support and tell them. When this happened, they had to disconnect my line and reconnect it. Two times now. But it worked like a charm both times. Just make sure to call on a different phone than your Hero.

Also, just for kicks and giggles, check to see if your software is up to date, because 1.5.2 was supposed to fix it, or so I thought.

If you need anymore help, let us know....

Good luck!

If your problem with receiving pictures is getting the useless "download" button, this is a known problem that has been affecting lots of Heros for months. Hard resetting is a temporary fix that is not worth it in my opinion. You will have to tell people to text the pics to your email or use the sprint picture mail website to view them until an update is released (rumored for April 9th although past rumors haven't been true)

I have been getting the error message that the MMS couldnt be downloaded for awhile now, but just recently I am not getting any MMS. The only way i knew was because the person that sent me a MMS called to see if I got it. When i checked online, there it was. WTF Over????

I've dealt with it for months too. You can do a web chat/call to get a credit to your bill like I did, because this is a basic function of the phone. Maybe if more people demand a credit then they will fix the issue soon.

03/30/2010 10:08:31AMAgent (Annie U): "Is there anything else I can assist you with?"

I think its funny that when copy/pasting the conversation from my email transcript that the amount of the credit and Android 2.1 are removed, lol

Get a new phone then.

Its a pretty widespread problem and I don't feel like exchanging my phone all the time, just like I don't think hard resetting all the time is worth it. Honestly the problem doesn't bother me much because everybody important knows to send pics to my gmail, and jokes/forwards from other people can easily be checked on the sprint picture mail website. Besides, I'm getting a credit on my bill because of the problem and that satisfies me enough. I think I can wait for the 2.1 update which should fix it.

Hi, I had the same problem myself, with and without hanscent and chompsms. You have to personally take your phone into the store, never mind the phone calls, utterly useless reps there. Anyways, at the store, I was told it was an internal programming issue, and the fix was not to hard reset it, which is something you can do at home. The fix is to totally remove the entire programming and reprogram the phone, which is what they did. I had to leave my phone overnight, didn't really get a good explanation as to why, but in the morning, when I got it back, I was able to send and receive MMS. Hope that helps.
