Apple Innovation

In fairness, if you showed the average person on the street this photo, most would not be able to guess which is the new version vs the old version.

That's only the s2 and s3, what about all the countless other Samsung phones? Apple only makes one phone, and it's exactly the same year after year

Apple innovation is apple buying a license from Motorola for their technology putting it in their istuff and calling it innovation!

I am betting that some of the technology BB and Android manufacturers add to their phones is licensed from others. Just a guess. If you look closely at the various Apple EULA and TOS, you will see Apple licenses this and that.

No reason to think Samsung or Mot does not do the same thing. I'll take that as a yes until proven otherwise.

Just a guess, mind you.

Apple innovation = whatever the hell they to you is innovation.

You don't need NFC. You don't need inductive charging. You don't need extra memory via an sd card slot. You don't need access to any files or folders. You don't need to be able to attach files to emails. You don't need a notification led. You don't need more battery power.

When, or if, Apple allows any of these options, it will be truly innovative and the best iphone since... the last iphone. iPhone 5: made for the idiot in you

"You don't need to be able to attach files to emails. You don't need a notification led."

iPhone doesn't have that? Those things are so basic that I just assumed everyone had them.

One of the things I dislike, I'll give you that. and to answer your query, no. Attaching crap to emails was difficult. It has to do with Apple's sandbox. Apps do not tend to communicate with each other.

Now, it is easy.

The innovation and firsts of Apple by the numbers.

4" or greater screen: HTC HD2 (November 2009)

Dual-core processor: LG Optimus 2X (February 2011)

1 GB RAM: Samsung Galaxy SII (February 15, 2011)

HD Screen (iPhone 5 isn't but it's about as close as it gets): Samsung Galaxy Nexus (November 2011)

Deep Facebook integration: Android 1.6 (September 2009)

1.3 MP or HD video FFC: HTC EVO 4G (June 2010)

8 MP camera: HTC EVO 4G (June 2010)

I could go on, but it might look a little bad for Apple.

So congratulations Apple! Welcome to last year.

On the positive side, I think the only thing Apple has on Android for the moment is HD microphones and audio. If anyone can think of an Android phone that already uses this, please tell me.

So in a way its good. I mean you can tell that both phones are miles apart in design and how they look. But they both look so good and so 2012, that you can't even tell which one is the new, and which on is the old.

if you smart and innovate like apple there's a reason why they keep the same design and change the specs and a little from the outside and sorry to said this but the google glasses that's just stupid really who would paid 1000$ for a pair of stupid glasses that barely do anything I'm sorry but android and google is not an innovated company they make too Manny phones and still loosing as goes for Samsung galaxy 3 what's awesome about that phone ? I'll still see the same problems of the OS how it was back then

Not all android phones are. But the best selling models have generally been. Blame the customers?

And actually Apple went from aluminium to plastic to glass to aluminium :)

Hate is not good, but I do dislike Apple's habit of copying, claiming it as innovation, and using lawsuits to try to stifle competition (none of that being unique or novel in the tech business, they're just the most visible exponent right now). So when the annual update contains no actual innovation a certain amount of snark is understandable.

Actually, That's The Very Main Reason I Dislike Apple! When It Came For Me To Upgrade I Wanted A Phone That Was Better Than My SE W995, The Only Way I Could Do This Was To Purchase A"Smart Phone" At The Time Particularly, It Annoyed Me That I Had ToKeep My Phone On Over Night If I Wanted Too Use The Alarm, I Would(And Still Do) HHit The Wrong Link On A Web Page, When Scrolling Through My Pictures, It Annoyed Me Having To Swipe The Screen And Not Just Tap, And The calendar Did Not Have Easy Options For Recurring Events(Like Four Weekly, I Have Since Gotten The Acalandar App!)

There Were And Still Are A Few Other Annoyances, But My Old Phone Could Do Everything An IPhone Could, Just Didn't Have as Many Apps Or Games!

I Do Love My Gs2, But Don't Necessarily Feel Touch Screen Is Such As Good A Step ForwardAsIs Always Believed!?

Apple innovation defined:

Naming the 6th generation of their product the iPhone 5, presumably for adding a fifth row of icons to the homescreen.

Convincing their customers that the app drawer makes a nice homescreen for six generations.

Suing the pants off of their largest competitor for copying a rectangular chassis with rounded corners so they can purchase licensing for truly useful technologies like LTE.

Yes, I'm an Apple fan.

Whoa wait!... That's just the same phone on both sides surely?

Because the SG2 and the SG3 look identical right? No evolution there at all.

Exactly....and ask the general popluation which is the newer version, 70 - 80 % will say the SIII from a distance because the color makes it look newer, as well as the updated look of the 3.

I highly doubt I'm alone in thinking this, but I prefer plastic phones. My last two devices have been made by Samsung, both of which had "cheap plastic". This "cheap plastic" actually isn't so cheap, it's high quality, durable plastic that's meant to survive a drop or nearly anything else that will likely happen to it. Having a plastic phone has saved my device from shattering, breaking, and denting; I couldn't be happier with the "cheap plastic" on my Galaxy Note.

It's hard for me to understand why people hate on the use of plastic and praise the use of glass or metal in phones. When glass is more likely to shatter and break, and metal is more likely to scratch and dent.

Imagine a doctor wearing google glasses. Everything he sees can be seen by his colleagues in real time. If there is a problem, they know it and inform him. He deals with new information without losing use of his hands.
