I must have read 5 threads today of people falling over themselves unrooting waiting for 2.1. All these threads are people in a total panic as they still use the 1 button wonders (DM Updater and ROM Manger) to try and accomplish this task. Boot loops and stuck screens and who know what plagues are upon us. If you phone is rooted and running well, you are already ahead of the game! You are running 2.1 on steroids! If you decide you want the "real" 2.1, I am willing to bet you will have it available for download (probably as I type). Calm down, take a deep breath, and think before you do or undo anything.

My 2 cents :eek::eek::eek:

I'll never go back to stock. NEVER..............

I am how ever getting amusement from all the "Help I tried to go back to stock and messed up my phone" posts. The real humor is if they would have took the time to learn and understand the what, why, and how of being rooted not only would they know how to fix their phones. They wouldn't want to go back anyway.

Irony is hilarious

Its going to be funnier when they all realize they were better off rooted and cant root again. (at least not without using rsdlite)

I unrooted my phone this morning, and realized what a stupid idea it was this afternoon and quickly rooted again. There is really no rhyme or reason to unroot. The OTA is going to be completely sub par to even the most primitive Custom ROM version. These Devs will have something cooked up faster than most of you can Unroot your phones anyways, so my advice would be to just hang with your favorite rom, and update as needed via ROM manager. :)

Perhaps I am missing something but last time I checked Cyanogen builds his ROM's directly from the AOSP tree (Android Open Source Project) and doesn't use anything from any carrier OTA's. I know for sure that Koush just takes Cyanogen's ROM's and ports them to the Droid. Sooooo he won't be adding in anything from the magical (no not really lol) OTA. Besides that anything that Moto/VZW could have put in this OTA we already have in Cyanogen/Koush ROM's.

We don't need no stinkin' OTA!

I've only been rooted for about two weeks and have never been happier. I’m currently running NexBeast overclocked at 1.1ghz with JIT enabled. My Droid is smoking my friends Nexus One in every way. Why would I give that up, for the new 3D gallery, live wallpapers, pinch zoom, or news and weather? Oh wait I already have all that and much more.

Staying rooted all the way!
