So I have had my Evo 3D since October 2011 so I am by no means a new user to it. I have noticed recently however, that when I save a number to contacts, when I go to my "people" app, the contact info does not appear. Now I know it's saved because if I type in the number and make a call, the name shows up along with the number as it's dialing. I've tried everything I can think of, my "people" is set to show all, I've tried importing and exporting my contacts from my SD card thinking that it was saved somewhere other than to my phone, but I get nothing. All of the numbers that were saved when I originally set my phone are there, just no numbers I've recently added. Please HELP!

I dont think I am. Here's an example of what happens, I dial a number for the first time : 1-234-567-8900, hit "save to people" at the top, "create new contact", enter the name for the contact, save the number, the phone tells me "contact saved" then I go to people and what I just saved isn't there nor does it appear if I search for the name I just saved.... HOWEVER, if I exit the people app, dial 1-234-567-8900 again, it shows the name I saved along with the contact info as the phone is dialing. I'm stumped. Like I said though, all the info I put in the day I bought the phone shows in the phone book, only newly added things don't.

Go back into the people app. Push your menu button. Then a 'view' option appears. Tap that and you'll see a window named options with contact book listings and check boxes. If some are unchecked but show they have some contact numbers in them, that is your problem. You'll have to enable all the check boxes or move the contacts to another contact listing.

I have one idea to try maybe.

Try going into your people application and tap the upside down arrow/caret symbol straight across from 'ALL'. It should drop down a list of your current address books. Maybe the contacts are going into a secondary contact book that is not currently being displayed.

You can also try People -> Menu key -> View and lower on the page it should show you the different address books and whether they are being displayed currently. Check mark them to set them to display in your main list.

(Jer is quicker on the draw ;) )

I just got this phone working last night after playing with it for a few days trying to program it and get it running on Boost. Mission accomplished (though the internet is unbearably slow), now I'm having another problem.

Am I really this stupid, or is there something missing here.

I added in a few contacts, but can't view them unless I go to phone- where it shows call logs and then the few people I entered into contacts.

When I go to: People, all it shows is my gmail account. When I hit the drop down for the top bar which says All, it has 1 thing in there which is the Address Book- clicking it does nothing.

Yes I have tried playing with all the view options and no change.

Is there some kind of trick to this, or is there something wrong? Its driving me nuts.

Thank you for any suggestions.

I would read this whole thread that your post was moved to, but if I were to venture a guess, I would need more info on your total setup, and to know if you are on Boost mobile, I will guess then you are rooted, and running a custom Rom. I don't believe Boost has the 3vo, and keep in mind, keeping them in your Gmail, will allow for safe keeping and if something happens to your phone you always have your contacts synced to Gmail and easy to restore. I have never had an issue with contacts, but there are allow 3rd party apps in the play store you might want to try, looks for phone contacts or something along those lines. ;)

If you look at the screen shot I took below, when in people if look look at top when it says Phonebook, to the right you will see a drop down, hit that and gives you options to save to phone and Gmail, you might only have one check marked, see if that helps.

Yes I hit save and its saving because like I mentioned before, the contacts show up when I hit phone.

I haven't gone through google because I like to keep my phonebook separate from my email. I just don't get why the contacts don't show up in the people folder.

My issue is with the phone itself, I checked all of those options already. I bought this phone used and I'm not all that experienced with the more complicated things. I honestly don't even know if its rooted cause I just got it to work 2 nights ago and have been extremely busy this weekend.

Regarding your pic: I don't have a phonebook option, the drop down menu has All, then clicking the drop icon goes to address book. Nothing happens when I click that.

Go into your phone settings/about and tell us what it says there for your software info, then click on more and tell us what it says there. Or better yet take a screen shot of both and post it.
