Help no sim card inserted???

i updated kies to latest version and when i try to connect my phone to it it says no sim card inserted. unable to communicate. what happened?

ok i rolled back old version of kies still not working
i guess this is 1 of the many problems with 4.0.4

Hi.

I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your query but I have personally found 4.0.4 to be the most stable update so far.

I hope I'm not tempting fate when I say this but I honestly have not found one single bug or problem with mine.

Sure it gets a little warmer than I'd like sometimes but then so did my s2 on gingerbread and 4.0.3

Try rebooting the phone, and maybe even remove and reinsert the sim card. Also try rebooting the PC. Most times its Kies with the problem and not the ICS.

rebooting the phone worked
so kies just randomly decided not to detect my sim card?

Maybe it connected and then somehow the connection got lost. And that screws it up. A reboot forces a refresh of the connection. For me, its not a big problem. I know Kies sometimes have problems getting connected, but usually it works out in the end. Its gotten better along the way.

This only atarted to happrn after 4.0.4
