So, this is what I enjoy most. Getting Sql Server to do what it's not supposed to do out of the box.

I get to slap on my creative hat and perform my magic on the DB. My manager then is very impressed and I get a good glow of achievement as a result.

Win, win!

Had an interview once where they asked me a question and I answered it knowing full well they were going to tell me I was wrong, that my answer was impossible to achieve.

Yeah, I'd have thought that too if I hadn't actually done what they said couldn't be done.

And, if you look very very very carefully at the documentation, hidden deep with a subpage of a subpage, in the smallest tiniest font possible, is a reference that yes, contrary to everything else the documentation has stated, you can do this one thing BUT PLEASE DON'T DO IT UNLESS YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO!
