So lately, I have noticed that some of my home icons go missing from the home screen. This morning, I noticed that my Google Maps and Navigation icons were missing from the folder I put them in. This happened before a couple weeks ago with some other apps icons too.

I did not reboot the phone either time. I did do a Maps update from the Play store, (including other apps, which icons did not go missing from the home screen). All my apps are on the phone itself, not the SD Card.

- TMobile SGS3, Stock everything

What gives?

From my experience, sometimes the updates actually replace the original app, and not an incremental update. When it is a full update that replaces the app, then it removes the old version which in turn removes shortcuts. Usually these are the updates that won't update automatically, you actually have to manually update.

I have had this happen to me and sometimes I just notice the space where a shortcut used to be and have a hard time remembering what app is missing.

I am by no means an expert, just my two cents. I just noticed no one was answering, so I thought I would try. :wavey:
