Stuck in a boot loop after 2.1 update

So, i followed the directions for updating the droid to 2.1. Now stuck in a boot loop. (2+ hours) grrrr.. haha

The firmware updated fine and didn't indicate a failure, after i updated i did the reboot from the menu. I've reflashed 2-3 times now and it does not come back, and i've pulled the battery more than a few times.

So, please tell me i don't have to wipe this thing !

If you haven't tried it already unplug your droid for the computer. Mine seemed to be stuck until I did that.

reboot into recovery and do a factory reset

yeah, i tried both.. the factory reset worked.. oddly enough, it remembered what programs i had installed, and a good number of them were still "there" sweeet.. just reinstalling some others now.. Oh well, nothing like that fresh OS feeling

Mine installed with a hitch ... although the first boot took several minutes (3 or 4 maybe).

Yea, my initial boot took a while too. I was starting to get worried.
