HTC One X+?

I wish HTC would announce something official about this sooner rather than later (if, of course, the rumours are true) - I'm due for an upgrade later this week (from my HTC Desire) and have been eyeing up the One X since it came out earlier this year.

Should I wait, or just go for the One X? I'm getting fed up of my Desire constantly running out of memory for apps!

I don't get the multitasking issue, I've never had a problem with mine or anything at all tbh, battery lasts for ages... only phone I've ever owned that has zero lag. I wonder if it's because I've got the tegra 3 version instead of the LTE one you get in the states???

Even if multi-tasking was a problem (which is sounds like it isn't from the above posts), I doubt it would be a deal-breaker for me. I can't think of any situation in which I would rely on multi-tasking.

Two days to go until I can upgrade...and still no announcement from HTC. To be honest, I'll probably go for the One X, as it's available now and I'm happy with what I've seen of it (my wife already has one - although hers suffers from the poor wifi reception; temporarily bodged by wedging a piece of velcro between a TPU case and the phone). Annoyingly it seems that O2 are still not selling the white version, so I'll have to go black by the looks of things.

Is anyone else holding out for the One X+ announcement? I'd be interested to hear the reasons why you're waiting.

Was your wife an early adopter? The Wifi issue you mention was only a problem on some of the first handsets released. Hopefully, it shouldn't be an issue with handsets released now.

Yes - her end-of-contract coincided with the One X launch. It was fine at first, but over time the wifi performance got worse. I read about the bodge (if you use a case) and did that. I have seen a YouTube video of how to solder the antenna, but don't want to crack it open for fear of breaking it.

We might send it back to HTC once I've upgraded (since we'll have my Desire as a backup phone for her to use in its absence) to get it repaired if the bodge stops working.

I believe the multitasking problem only exists on the american versions. The hard ware i dont think as anything to do with it but rather the worthless version of sense. I have never been able to run more than 3 apps runn concurrently without: some, all or all apps AND sense crashing. Dolphin browser is able to take the resources it needs to run multiple tabs, which can cause everything to crash. That my 2-3 year old merge was able to manage this, but this brand new flag ship phone cant, the thing is unequivocably broken. New roms help immensely but good old HTC broke their promise to make rooting possible on all phones. It is now completely impossible to do on the latest firmware update closing all loopholes and i never had time in my 100 hr+ per week work schedule to deal with it before.

If you never run more than 1 app, buy a phone thats 1/4 the price and itll perform exactly the same as an under utilised flagship phone will

Oh well, the decision's been made - I've plumped for the One X after all.

Well, more like the decision's been forced upon me: my Desire threw a wobbly last night (restarted itself randomly several times, deleted all of my email accounts and several apps - had to do a factory reset to get everything back and then it's not been terribly stable so far). This is not the first time this has happened, so I can't wait for HTC's announcement about the One X+.

Ordered the upgrade today. Should get it tomorrow. WooHoo!

Oh well, I'm happy with my One X so far. It's far superiour to my Desire, so I shouldn't complain.

Meh, it doesn't bother me that much, I'm happy with the One X, but it's a bizarre move by HTC if you ask me. Release a 2012 flagship phone, then release another one with better specs 6 months later? The increased speed does nothing for me, 4 cores at 15.GHz (or 1.4GHz dependant on which variant of the Tegra 3 chip you have) is fast enough for anything I've needed. 32GB storage is serving me well so far, although I wouldn't whine at 64GB. I'm running a JellyBean ROM at the moment, so no issues there. If it has a better battery, that's the only thing that I'll be a little miffed about. I've no issue with battery life per s

I'm with you on this one....just focus your attention on the One X rather then release a whole new phone just to try and one up Sammy's GS III. I think that's the whole issue here. Rather it be it or not, im happy with my original One X (even with 16gigs). Just release 4.1 already!!!

Likewise, it does seem a bit of an odd move, and probably one brought on by the S3. To be honest, Touchwiz will always put me off Samsung phones, so the S3 wasn't really an option.

I'm sure you'll be mega happy with the One X anyway, it is an amazing phone. Are you in to rooting/custom ROMs etc?

I'm happy with it so far! Loving the fact that I can download lots of apps without my phone moaning that it's running out of space. Haven't need to move any to the SD partition yet.

I just took One X international version with a contract (in Europe) and I still have it in the box unopened. could they offer like a contract change with One X+ for a little extra month cost?

I'm not that bothered by the announcement, to be honest. If my upgrade was a month later, I would probably have waited until it was released, but I could upgrade from the end of September, and I'm not sure I could have endured my failing Desire for much longer.

From the specs, I can't see much reason for One X owners to swap.

What's more interesting is that Jelly Bean has finally been announced for the One series.

yer hopefully us one x owners will be able upgrade around Christmas time to JB then. the slightly larger battery would be nice but apart from that i'm not too bothered. not enough of a reason to trade in my one x. especially as it won'l be supporting 4g which is going to be the next big requirement for me when I next upgrade in the UK.

Me neither, it's only an extra 300mAh so it shouldn't give that much extra life. But yeah now it's official, there's not much extra to shout about.
