I used my girlfirend's Desire S for few days last month, now I got my own Desire S. But the problem is Google Play or Market shows "Last used in February" and "Last used in March" after both the handset. I know that I can hide the one which I don't use but the active one always shows "Last used in March" which is very annoying. Can I delete a device Permanently?

One cannot delete a device only hide it. My wife's Desire had some issues and the board ended up being replaced twice. Under her account there are three devices for essentially the same phone. The best I can do is to hide the other two. Tried writing to Google to no avail.

thanks for the answer. but friend,I don't want to delete an account I want to delete a device. I've used the same account for both the desire s.

I've got the same problem now, and was hoping to find an answer more to my liking but alas.....

Since it appears that you can not delete a device it might be an option to delete the account and then make a new one, then register only the one phone on that one. Won't work for me because I don't want to lose my gmail address but if that's not an issue for you then theres a solution (though somewhat less than optimal)

Here's my findings:

1. if you still have your phone with you, delete the cache and data of Google Services Framework app (just as you do when trying to force an update check), and it will be gone. Of course you need to be signed in, otherwise it doesn't do anything. Yet, dont do anything with google play, otherwise the phone will be reappearing. Just reset it and forget it.

2. if you already got rid of the phone, simply wait 9 months (not one day more not one day less) since your last used date. I have verified and confirmed this time frame with 4 devices now. Took an extra week only for a tablet to disappear.

Does that remove the device from Google Play, or just remove the account from the device?

I just did a factory reset of a tablet I need to return, so I can't try it. It seems to me, it would still show up in Google Play - which it does after just doing a factory reset, of course.

I wasn't too surprised to find Google don't let you do such a basic thing. I've found what you can do is edit the name that shows for the device in Google Play. I've done that so I don't get it confused with the replacement.

The Google Dashboard can be reached through the settings by logging into your Google Play account - I couldn't seem to find it by just logging into gmail. Unfortunately, all it shows is the date the device was registered, and the IMEI if it's a phone.

I think all you can do is rename it so you don't confuse it with a newer one, and wait for it to die - which may take several months.

Agreed. No remove or delete. The visibility tick box is new though.

I wish there was an option to change the appallingly difficult to read new font on the Google Play website. Several shades of pale grey on a white background. What idiot thought of that?

Page loading in the Apps part is now incredibly sloooooow too. If they want any more of my money they need to sort their bloody website out. The old one may have been crude looking, but at least I could use it without eye strain and losing my temper.

Of course there's no way to actually ask Google anything any more. All you can do is leave feedback which they no doubt totally ignore.

I have devices that have been offline for 2 to 3 years and they still show on "My Devices". I cannot unregister them or reset them as they are dead. One will not reboot at all and the other has a defective touch screen.

Interestingly, if I go to "Android Device Manager" only the two active devices I have are listed. That manager seems to know all the others are "retired."
