I'm almost half done with Rainbow Six (Tom Clancy). It's good, but a bit slow going. It's also much longer than the previous few books I've read, and I'm not privy to all that military lingo.
The pace is quite good though. So far there has been three missions or so, and when you the team arrives on location, it get's pretty intense.
I'm reading the first book in the Gears of War series. I started reading it in preparation for the new Gears of War video game that comes out next year. I'm a little sad since I realized last week that it is glorified fan fiction, though
Hey what's up ballistic! How is the Wheel of time so far? Always heard about RJ but never got around to reading his epic series. Plus with Brandon Sanderson finishing it I know I will love those... it's just a matter of starting it....
On a side note
I JUST GOT TO MEET BRENT WEEKS!!!!!
It was awesome!!!!!!
That's awesome! I like to think they are really cool in real life. And probably did a bunch of magic on you, non-stop.
In my head:
*After a sweet conversation*
Kelmar:Uhh..... could you stop doing that magic for a little bit?
P&T: Of course. (Pulls a cigarette out of thing air)
Kelmar: Yeah, I get that, but....
P&T: *Vanishes*
The Wrath of Darth Maul by Ryder Windham was a quick read that did a nice job of tying in George's movie, Star War novels, and the Clone Wars cartoon series. A bit pricey for the short read though.
Just finished my very first Stephen King novel "11/22/63". I loved it, well worth the $16.99 (Kindle eBook). I will definitely be reading more of his work.
Next is "3rd Degree" book #3 in the Women's Murder Club series by James Patterson.

I love the Jack Reacher books,
I haven't read all of them but ive read all the one's in the past few years,
Currently reading the new Jack Reacher book - A Wanted Man and its as good as all the others.
Is it very different to the film?
I loved The Sandman but I haven't got round to reading any of Gaimans books yet.
I thought the episode of Doctor Who that he wrote was brilliant!

Sorry for the delayed response, work and family life kinda keep me from browsing through the forums like I used to, I mainly pop in to see what is being read, lol, I've found a ton of great books through this one thread.
As for the Wheel of Time series, I've hit a couple of slow spots that I had to push through but overall I've really enjoyed the series. On book 4 now.
Read the entire series before getting started on Wheel Of Time, really enjoyed the books, all of them. Epically disappointed that for the Jack Reacher movie coming up that Tom Cruise was casted to play Reacher. Lmao, really, Reacher is 6'5" and weighs 250 and some genius figured Tom Cruise can fit that role, yeah right...
Really thinking about jumping back into James Patterson's Alex Cross series, just saw a trailer that looked epic for an Alex Cross movie.

I completely agree with you, casting Tom Cruise as Reacher is a Joke!!
Lee Child has sprouted some rubbish about Reachers size been a metaphor for the fact that he's an unstoppable force and that Tom Cruise can put that accross very well but I dont believe him in the slightest!
And whats more its probably going to destroy the chances of us getting a good Reacher movie in the future!
I've heard from those who have seen it that it was surprisingly good (FWIW they were expecting it to be horrid). They all said that it is VERY odd seeing Tyler Perry play a serious role (after all the Madea movies).
