Hi, my name is J. Seriously just the letter J.

This whole mess started when I took a new job and moved into the mountains. I had a great relationship with my iPhone. I remember sitting in line 3 years ago waiting impatiently to meet this mysterious beauty. When we we met it was love at first sight. We interacted non-stop for days and days. My Windows Mobile phones heckled me for being with such a naive inexperienced phone. "Where is the cut and paste" they'd say, "What about multitasking?" I ignored their taunts and responded, "Call me when you get an update". ...they never did.

Years went by and I saw it evolve. First came the apps, then cut and paste, then notifications. It got to the point that I could depend on it to grow more and more. I even knew when. It was a great relationship. Then the unthinkable happened...I moved.

Now in the mountains I look at this thing I call my partner, something I could depend on to connect me to my family, friends, and the world. It was always on EDGE when it wasn't searching. Was it something I did, I thought our relationship was fine. As I'd make calls it would drop out of the conversation, uninterested...distracted. It wasn't completely its fault, it's the only way it knew how to connect. So I had to end the relationship. As much as I loved my beauty, I loved my family and friends more.

So now I am learning to love another. It's not as sleek or smooth and the apps aren't as polished but it is dependable. As time goes on I find more and more to love about my Droid. Even though the apps might lack, the integration doesn't. The support might be rough the community is solid.

All that to say, I look forward to joining the community. :)

Welcome aboard!

DROID's Section is filled with news and speculation. 2.1 is rolling out, if you have not received it yet, you can figure out how to force the update in the link I gave you.

Enjoy your stay.

Having been a Windows Mobile addict (Did I say that out loud) LONG AGO. I am very familiar with the forums. (HoFo, Modaco, etc) Thanks for the link to the Droid forum, that will come in very handy. I did download and force the install, very smooth and easy. THanks again!

I was also a windows mobile addict (palm treo 700wx and samsung sch-i760) and reluctantly switch to the BB storm by my husband (who was anti-smartphone until the storm was released... always said it was a waste of money).

I'm happy to say that I picked up my storm yesterday to clear it out and perform a hard reset before selling it... I just sat there with the phone in my hand staring at it... I'd already forgotten how to use it!! (after only having my droid for 11 days)
