T-Mobile/Metro Talks

Well this just hit the news wave today
MetroPCS rumored to be in merger talks with Dish, Sprint and T-Mobile | PhoneDog
After rumors of a possible tie-up involving T-Mobile and MetroPCS or Sprint and Metro began rumbling earlier this year, those claims have surfaced once again, now with an additional company thrown into the mix. According to a source speaking to DealReporter, MetroPCS is currently in talks with T-Mobile, Sprint and Dish about a potential merger. The talks with some of the companies are said to be ongoing while others are described as "off and on," though it's also said that there's no negotiating going on quite yet and that there's no guarantee that any deal will be made. If an agreement were reached, though, it's thought that it would be made up of both stock and cash.
As noted before, T-Mobile has been rumored as a possible suitor for MetroPCS in the past, with T-Mo parent Deutsche Telekom said to be interested in Metro. A report back in February claimed that Sprint was nearly finished with an $8 billion purchase of Metro before the Now Network's board killed the deal. As far as Dish goes, the company is looking to put together an LTE network, and it'd be pretty interesting to see what would would result from a Dish-MetroPCS deal. All of this is simply a rumor for now, though, so we'll just have to wait and see if these talks lead to anything more serious.

I had a friend switch from TMo to Metro because of TMo's horrible service. I personally switched to AT&T from Metro because Metro's network just wasn't cutting it anymore for my needs.

Metro is unlimited but the network is limited with coverage across the country(especially LTE and 4G) Loved Metro and my friend hated TMo. Imo combining the two is worthless. Also with Metro's "unlimited" pricing structure I ended up paying about $30 more with AT&T and have a better phone choice and network.

Don't get me wrong as I have said before, Metro was good to me for 4yrs and they are a great option, but if they merge with anyone I'd suggest jumping ship because pricing will change. It's inevitable that to cover the cost of said merger the consumer is going to pay for it.

1. Metropcs Communications (PCS) - Deutsche Telekom AG, the parent of T-Mobile USA, the country's fourth-largest cellphone carrier, is reportedly close to a deal to buy smaller MetroPCS Communications Inc. The German company that owns T-Mobile USA, is set to vote on the deal Wednesday.

And stock is up 17% today. Insider trading anyone??
