The OG Evo. I am having issues with it just randomly rebooting. Even while it sits on my desk it will reboot.

I rooted the phone and put ICS on it, and it still reboots randomly, although less frequently than before. Its time for a new phone, and I have been eligible for a upgrade for a while now, but I don't want the current Evo or GS3 when all the rumored quad core phones are right around the corner. Maybe Sprint will get an Evo branded One X+

Extremely doubtful on the One X+ front. Sprint doesn't release high end EVO devices this late in the year. Those are usually around May/June. If you are waiting for quad-core, we should be seeing the new LG Optimus within the next 30-45 days.

Unless Sprint does something strange, they won't be getting the One X+. AT&T has announced it as exclusive for their lineup, but no date or price.

Well that's too bad. I really am not a huge fan of LG devices. Maybe we will get something cool from Motorola then. Damn Sprint and their really good prices on unlimited data and slow phone roll-outs.

Really only LG/Samsung are slated to have quads out before the end of the year. Motorola hates all not named Verizon at the current time. Next year I hope this changes.

Do you have a lot of apps moved to the SD? I ran into random reboot issues on the Photon because of that (and eventually had a complete reboot loop because of it).

I know, with the OG Evo, it's almost impossible not to move any apps to the SD due to "memory" issues (part of the reason I was itching to upgrade so fast last year), but I did find out that moving apps2SD caused reboot issues.

Other than that, I wouldn't upgrade just because of that. I'd just stick it out for another couple months. It'd be worth the wait. Only reason not to stick it out is if you have another back-up phone that you can use temporarily, prior to upgrading.

Unless the next Nexus is a 5.5 inch phone my next phone will be the note 2... I don't want to have to have a tablet and a phone and the Note 2 takes care of both plus I have gorilla mitts and believe it or not the Note fits nicely!

It's not that Sprint isn't able to grab any. Sprint just doesn't want to. I'm sure they could put in a request for any build proposal, but they haven't. I don't blame them. There's a lot of that needs to be filtered out there.

I actually like the selection Sprint has. It's very balanced. Not just a bunch of bullshit phones like VZW.

I would hate to do it, but I would switch to Samsung if something came along that really piqued my interest. I love HTC since I have never ever had one issue with any of their devices, but there's only so much that I can wait for. Once LTE releases in NYC, I'm jumping all over it like white on rice.

Supposedly we're supposed to get some love during December, but we'll see how that pans out. If it ends up launching around Feb/Mar, I might as well just wait the extra 3 months for my contract to expire then re-up with a Nexus or w/e the best available device is.

I'm pretty much set on picking up whatever the next Nexus is myself, which means I'll likely be waiting until Spring to upgrade (unless Sprint does something strange). I would love an HTC Nexus, but the current rumors don't seem to point to one. I will admit that the Note 2 has piqued my interest, and I look forward to playing with one in the store to see how well it works. I have large hands as well, so phone size has never been an issue with me.

It was agonizing, quite honestly, to think that I was going to actually give Samsung a shot again. Just like you, I had been a long time HTC guy...until the Photon was released, and for my needs, I felt it outshined the Evo 3D (even though it didn't sell as well). I was even more sold on how Motorola handled their OEM accessories, as compared to HTC. But now, it seems like it might take some time for Google to start flexing their muscles to "right" the ship at Motorola (because they didn't instill much hope by cancelling the ICS upgrade on the Photon and other non-Verizon phones). It's a shame because even though the Photon was my first Motorola experience, it's been fantastic to this day. Because of the added specs, I didn't run into the memory issues that I had with the original Evo (and many people had experienced this with older Android phones, as well).

When it comes down to it, Samsung has just seemingly gone in the right direction as far as growth, innovation (I still don't believe they violated Apple's patents), and support (this is both internal with regards to updates and 3rd party support for accessories). I'll be re-visiting my stance on Samsung, once I've had some time with the Note 2 (when it's released). The thing that's most pulling me in that direction is the S-Pen technology. I'd been looking for a tablet like device that would suit my needs at work, as well as my personal life, and even though I wouldn't have thought of the Note before (just too big, seemingly), there's something about the 2nd edition of the Note that just seems like it'll be a better experience than if Sprint had offered the original version. Since it's a combination of both a phone and a tablet, it's perfect for my needs on the go...but then they added S-pen functionality with the Note 10.1, as well as the upcoming Windows Slate tablets, so if I decided I wanted one of those for work...I'd be able to use my S-pen with those as well. Just perfect harmony for my needs.

Yep, which seems to put a hole in those LG Optimus Nexus rumors. If LG does have a Nexus phone coming, it seems like it would be somewhat different from this one.

So, I guess that means the Optimus G gets pushed way back on my list because that means that the initial leaks with a removable battery (way back at the beginning of the year) were very early renderings and those plans obviously got squashed. That also means no microSD slot, since it's not a "variant," which is an absolute deal breaker. Note 2, here I come!

Yup. I was hoping for a Optimus Nexus, just to keep it in consideration (since a Nexus "variant" of the Optimus G would've meant a possibility for a removable battery). Without a microSD slot, that's the #1 deal breaker for me.

According to that link, it says the ATT model is expandable up to 80gb w/ microSD

Crap! I don't know what to do now. The LG Optimus G with an expandable micro SD slot is extremely intriguing. Since that's 1 variation from the Korean version, I wonder if it's a removable battery or if they stuck with the non-removable, like the LTEvo.

Well, since it's supposedly going to be the "first" quad-core LTE device released, I guess that's a good thing because I'll get to play with that in the store before putting a pre-order in for the Note 2, which would end up being the 2nd LTE quad-core device.

Funniest part about all of this is, majority of the blogs talked about ATT only for a long time (even back to the Eclipse rumors) and act suprised that Sprint is getting it also. They always fail to do the research and realize that Sprint's FCC documents for this device were filed prior to ATT and the early leaks of the Eclipse were all for a Sprint phone...LOL.
