Rezound for Razor, Nexus or Charge?

Been having ongoing problems with both my Rezounds. If you were to trade them in and get a free replacement, would you go with the Razor, Nexus or Charge?

Razr - Maybe, battery life is questionable and no ext battery option... Razr Maxx Definitely!

Nexus - Decent device, wouldn't trade my Rezound for it but I don't have any issues with it. If you are a tweaker this is the way to go, tons of ROMs and Jelly Bean too.

Charge - NEVER! It is a decent device, but only GB and more of an equivalent to a Incredible 2 with 4G instead of Global Mode. You can buy these online in really nice shape for right around $100. The specs are terrible in comparison to the Rezound, it would be a definate downgrade.

Shoot for a Galaxy S3... I have heard of people getting them if they complain/whine enough as a replacement for the Rezound. They are a solid device and really nice.

The Razr and Nexus are comparable devices, it is kind of a personal preference thing, each has their strengths and weaknesses. If I was going to pick one between those two it would clearly be the Nexus.

As a Nexus device, the GN should be heavily supported both by Samsung/Google and by the development community for longer than either the Razr or the Charge. My mother had a Droid Charge for a few days before I convinced her to ditch it--it was a lousy device, and quite boring to be honest.

A friend of mine has a Razr, and it's okay at best...but I really don't like Motoblur. I'd say if you had to choose between these three the GN is the clear winner--it has a 720p screen as well, so it won't feel like a downgrade in terms of screen real estate.

For most people, the reception on the Rezound is superior to most other phones available, the radios are impeccable and few phones in history can match it's signal grabbing and maintaining capabilities (LG enV or VX8600 might come close)... that being said some people have had issues that seem handset specific, possibly manufacturing issues or defective components... compared to the Nexus the Rezound is usually way ahead of it in this regard, but some people in some instanced thing the Nexus has equal or better reception.

Call quality is a different matter, the Rezound is pretty good most of the time, but depending on the conditions the noise cancelling circuitry can be a real issue and really hurt call quality. We have several people in our office with the Nexus, most of them think that the voice quality is just average, although I hear sometimes they say it is "muddy" sounding.

The Razr on the other hand has great sound quality, I would put it above the Rezound and vastly better than the Nexus. As far as reception, the radios are better than the Nexus, but not as good as the Rezound in most cases.

Battery life is a tricky question, it depends on a lot of factors, but the Nexus usually wins this one over the Rezound.

So far I like it a lot better than the Rezound. Jellybean just came out for this thing and it's great. The screen isn't as sharp as the Rezound, but it's pretty damn sharp.

The Rezounds just never worked right. Alsways one thing after another.
The first one I got had 8 or 9 different issues, mostly it refused to hold any kind of 4G connection. Emails hardly worked, only ever saw maybe 2 of every 50 and only every couple days. Friend Stream pictures didn't work, Beats didn't like to work, battery was dead halfway through the day without use... i could go on forever.

Second one didn't like phone calls. Screen should light up when you take it away from your face and it didn't (even called HTC, who said that was a defect). This one didn't like mail either, which flat out is 100% completely unacceptable especially since I rely on emails for multiple jobs.

Third phone had the same issues with emails and phone calls. Phone calls were the worst on this one because it always sounded like I was talking into a long tin pipe and a metallic voice of me echoes back and made conversations awkward and confusing, especially when the other person was trying to talk through the echos of what I had just said.
The final thing fort me was I took a call and the phone refused to turn the screen back on. The other two at least turned back on when I hit the power button, but if I would start dialing anything (say making a card payment over the phone) the phone would black out again every 2 seconds. This last time it would not light back up at all and to hang up i had to remove the case, back cover and then the battery.

The Samsung GN is superior to the Rezound in every way except screen resolution and (I hear) camera quality.

After using the Rezound, the pixels and what not of the Nexus are more noticeable.

And as far as the camera goes - Anyone who cares about Mega Pixels from a camera phone is a dipwad that doesn't know a single thing about cameras and their sensors. After about 4MP (maybe even less on phone cameras) all those extra MP are useless and do not add to the quality of the picture. You flat out cannot get a better picture because the sensor that size (super small to fit inside the camera) just won't do a heck of a job. What would matter is the quality of the glass in front of it and the program rendering the picture.

An 8MP SLR or DSLR (full sized camera) and an 8MP cell phone camera can in no way be compared

that is odd and unfortunate that you had to go through all of that. I've had the phone for several months and haven't experienced most of the problems you've had.

For the most part this phone has worked good for me. I have had some 4G data drops, but it still works for me. Also the battery isn't good, but I work around it with charging it. I don't use the official mail app and friends stream, so I'm unsure of any problems with them except I think I may have had problems with the mail app, but I use the browser and gmail app for emails, and both work. Beats works good too with the official music player.

Did you ever try 3rd party email apps?

I don't know what happened to your phones. hopefully things work out with whatever phones you use in the future.

How did you manage to get Verizon to give you a different model of phone? I've been having similar problems with my Rezound and have been wondering how to approach Customer Service to achieve a favorable result...

I love my Rezound. I went to the razr maxx hd and had signal problems. the max had a weaker reception then my rezound. I returned the maxx.

Whoa! Traded my S3 and got me a RAZR HD and the signal is outstanding! My wife has a Rezound and her signal and 4g don't compare. Moto makes the best radios so maybe you had a faulty device. Had the droid X and RAZR slim both had excellent signals.

We all have had a phone WHICH IS SIMPLY POSSESSED ...... and you unfortunately have had three!! I have had the Rezound for a year now and it has simply been the best phone I have ever owned with the exception of its battery life ..... which I deal with with a few extra batteries and or use if my awesome New Trent 11000 mah battery charger......

No 4G -> 3 G issues.......email works fine.......screen is to die for.......I am so sorry you have had such bad luck........

My next phone is looking to be the HTC DNA .......what a beast........it has the best screen of ANY mobile device in the world, a quad core and 2G 's of RAM and HTC's nobody does it better premium build quality....


My only pause....is the battery.......will a 2500 mah (so so so much better than my beloved Rezound's tiny 1620 mah ) be offset enough by the processing power saving efficiency of a quad core?????
