From iPhone 3gs to Galaxy S3

Welcome iAmRockinRich, glad to have you apart of the community :)

Maybe i can help you out with your issue, if not you can always post it here: Android Lounge

Otherwise i used to use iSyncr which is pretty reliable, i know there is another one called DoubleTwist which i have heard good things about.

However, right now i use Google Music Manager, downloaded on my computer and i upload my music directly from iTunes to it and it syncs automatically to my phone :)

Hope this helps and thanks for joining :D

I just can't believe no one in the android world could not figure out how to create software for our phones that work exactly like iTunes does with the iPhone. How do you update your phone without Keis? maybe I am missing something. Does google play use playlists fro iTunes? I can't get podcasts to start where I stopped listening. It goes back to the beginning. Also can't tell which ones I listened too in Keis. Thanks. Other than that I LOVE this phone.

Welcome to the forum! WOW, what a jump!!! Once upon a time I had a 3GS.

What exactly are you missing?

I have heard DoubleTwist recommended a lot when wanting to come from iTunes to Google.

One thing to keep in mind is Apple is closed, they are behind, and they don't want to make it easy to change. Worst case scenario, you might have to rebuild some playlists, movie collections, etc. The good thing is with Google you can access your content from any browser and almost any device, so if you set everything up again, you will have much easier access to it in the future.

What do you mean by updating your phone without Kies? Android has used OTA updates for years that Apple copied with ios 5 (I think that is when they got around to copying that feature) I have never used Kies for anything.

So you are recomending to use google music? can you organize your music and create smart playlists? I really would like to cut apple completely out of my life! :)
Thanks!

You can upload your music collection to Google Music and store up to 20,000 songs for free (I uploaded all of my music, around 8,000 songs). You can create playlists, but honestly I don't really know how well that feature works. I have used it a couple times and that is it. I pay for Slacker Radio premium and that is almost 100% of my music.

From what I hear from people that use MP3s doubletwist is highly recommended.

So, to answer your question... I recommend a good streaming service that allows you to cache music to your phone so you can also listen without data. I use Slacker just because I am used to it, but there are many.
