Am New Please Help

I just got my ZTE Merit 990G day before yesterday......(yes really new to smart phone, did not know had to be so smart to use it.....lol sorry inside joke)........but I have been having issues with my pictures......when i want to use them as wallpaper, it tells me that i need to size them, well i try to make the box as small as possible, and I try really hard to position it just right......but no matter what i do, once i save it as wallpaper, and then exit out of everything, to my home page, my picture is so big, can not see anything.........so i guess my question is, how do i size my pictures to where it looks normal.......not so big,

An easy fix is to use an app from GPlay called Picspeed Wallpapers

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.srsdev.wallpapers&hl=en

With this app you can easily select the postition of the image. If this doesnt solve your issue perhaps the pictures may have to be edited.
