How do I transfer iOS data to Android?

Hello all,
I'm sure this question has been asked many times before but as I am near to renewing my phone and am over the Apple restrictions and frustrations, How do I go about moving " Contacts, music etc" from my iPhone 4 to a new phone ( perhaps galaxy s3 4g ). I have updated to ios6 and don't really see any improvement? I really like the look of the android os, expandable memory, PC compatible and the option to set up how I like.

In iOS, see if there is a way to export your contacts to some file. It might be in iCloud. You want to try to export to a .vcf file format (address cards) or even a .csv (command delimited) format. I'm not familiar enough with iOS to know exactly how it is done. You may want to ask about this in an Apple forum (like MacRumors) if no one here knows.

Once you get your contacts in one of these formats, you should be able to import them into your Gmail account. Android phones require a Google account which is a Gmail account. Once they are in this account, it should sync to your phone. Ensure that you enable syncing to your Gmail account on your phone's contact app.

Use something like DoubleTwist to sync your iTunes content, and you should be all set. The only thing that won't work is iTunes Store purchased DRM protected movies and TV shows. These can only be played on iOS devices.
