im totally posting my completed(well almost) rig tomorrow. actually had a G+ hangout session of me putting it together and the director for apples CIS department showed up. i know, right... i made fun of him. anyways here is my G+ page to see some of what i worked with audioSoulja... o and tman, kinston has some decent priced SSDs for your OS to run on so you dont have to worry about your reg HDDs crashing later on ... 20K hr life expectancy compared to 1,000,000 on SSDs. set it up to where your HDD will shut off when not in use after like 3 to 5 mins and with that much ram your good to go

My rig is in a constant state of rebuilding but for cooling I went with the Antec H20 920 mainly because it was so low profile. Initially it had a problem with the clicking noise common to these liquid coolers but eventually the noise stopped. My next rebuild may be LGA 2011 but I will probably keep the cooler.

This is my current rig it has a micro atx board because I upgraded in steps and my old case was a micro case.

Case Antec One Illusion
i5-3570k stock speed still working on voltages
Coolermaster Hyper 212+ 120mm Cooling on CPU
Asrock z77 pro 4-m mobo
Thermaltake TR2 430 watt PSU
2x4gb Corsair Vengeance 1600 ram
OCZ Vertex 90gb ssd
Western Digital Cavier Black 1tb HDD
Sapphire ATI 5830 HD (picked up for only $40 so I said "why not?") also thinking maybe I should move that down to the bottom slot.

It is a Ipex 200
Which has an intel p4 2.4 ghz that I have overclocked to 3 ghz
Ram was 512 meg but upped to 2 gig
Other than that it is basically stock but fast for it's age
Os is Windows 7 Dark with terminator and alien media player

I mainly posted shots for the post apocalyptic style paint work (everyone says it looks like it's been in a fire) even my friends

I'll upload tomorrow after school. - In low light my DHD won't take good pictures :(

What are some good temps for idle and load for the CPU and mobo? Wanna try out Fan Xpert+

And would the Intel integrated graphics benefit from my mobo's gpu boost features?

I just bought the i5-3570k also and put it on an Asrock z77 Pro-4M mobo. Did you buy an aftermarket cooler or are you using stock? Good idle temps are right at 30c in my opinion not more but obviously less is ok.

Standard cooler. Getting under 35 on the "silent" fan mode.

Mabye the wrong place to post this but could I remove the hard drive from my laptop and put it in my desktop? I assume SATA speeds are faster than usb 2 one way and usb 3 another...

SATA connections are standard across the board, you can use the same cables as you would a desktop drive to connect a laptop drive in a desktop.
