Hi,

I have bough the wife a samsung Galaxy Tab 2 and got her a 16gb sd card to put her videos on. I can add up to about 2gb worth of vidoes fine but after that the tablet sees the videos but is unable to play them.

I can confirm that the videos play fine as I deleted all from the card and added again in a different order. I have also tried another 16gb card and the same occurs.

Has anybody else had this issue or know a way to resolve?

many thanks

Don't know the format your videos are in but if not in Mp4 they might not work. Try using this video converter, Miro Video Converter. Miro Video Converter FREE - Convert any video to MP4, WebM (vp8), iPhone, Android, iPod, iPad, and more.
Use the iPad format in the program,it's a Mp4 file maker. What ever Dir. you have the original in both the old format and the new Mp4 file will both be there after the converting.

Thanks for the reply. After investigating further the issue looks to be with the sd cards. I bought both at the same time from the same place. The sd cards are sandisk 16gb Class 4, when I add more that 2gb worth of videos they seem to copy but not correctly. All the videos are avi's. Once I add them to the card I am unable to play them direct from my PC. If I look at the summary of the video it does not show the resolution and frame details like the original does.

I have tried MX player which says the same that the video can not be played.

I just installed an AVI video file on my Galaxy Tab2 and it will not play. I then converted the AVI file to a IPad (Mp4) file using Miro Video Converter, and the video then would play. So if you want your AVI Videos to play on your Galaxy Tab2, you will have to convert them.;)

I have 2 32GB Sandisk Class 10 cards. Both contains 5 movies; avi no converting done. I used AirDroid to move them from my laptop to SD cards.
On both cards they wouldn't play initially using Moboplayer. I needed to allow Mobo to scan the card and find media on its own instead of me just hitting play first.

My AVI files (no converting) play on my sd card without issues using MX Player. I haven't tried playing them with any other player, but if I remember, the stock player wouldn't play them.

I just installed the program MX Player on my Galaxy Tab2, then I tried viewing an AVI video movie, it would not play. It's a great program for my converted to Mp4 format videos but not my AVI format videos. :(

I did find that the MX Player will play my MT2s H.D. files that the included Samsung player won't play. so it's a win for that file format.

I had this same problem - tried everything, was it incompatibility, missing codec or WHAT? And why would it play a video once, but after moving the video from the card to the tab, adding another video to the card, and moving the 1st video back from the tab to the card - it no longer played?
Much grief, then found out that there are many sellers on ebay who sell FAKE memory cards - with only 2GB or so of memory, but they are set to show that there is more memory, and that files are being copied, and that the files are there and the size, and the free memory remaining, but the files themselves are not there after the first GB or two.
Google FAKE SD CARDS and find the h2test2.exe to check your card.
The test showed that I have only 1.8 GB on my card - and (no surprise) when I took the music off, I could actually add 2 videos totally 1.5GB and play both of them, not just the first one!
I'm awaiting a refund from the seller, not sure how ebay will respond.
