regretly, does desire still have the multi-touch bug!

Common sense, however this is not the issue.

I'm sad to see it has the N1 bug, was kind of expecting it though.

well, if the htc website says it has "pinch to zoom" capability and not multitouch....

HTC never said it has multitouch

what is the difference between the two ? if you tell me its the same thing, then ok but

if you expect something that is not there already ( at least in the original ROMto be here then that' s the issue

Multitouch is simply the ability of the screen to detect more than one finger at a time.

Without multitouch, pinching is impossible as it would simply only be able to detect one finger moving, and not two moving apart.

The HTC Nexus one and also the Desire now have an issue where the fingers they track get "swapped" and then behave oddly.

As Yenz said, multitouch is the ability to use more than one finger at a time on the touch screen. Pinching requires two fingers.

Pinch to zoom = multitouch

I believe this is at best misleading.

I believe a class action lawsuit is this case is winnable or at least will force htc to come up with a fix.

Please reply with thoughts.

I think you're a troll...

I think our sue happy mentality benefits only lawyers at an incalculable cost to our way of life...

I think you guys are confusing multi touch technology with multi touch features...

I think "Jolly Holidays" should NOT be the new "Merry Christmas"...

I think John Lee Hooker kicks ass...

God, why does everyone want to sue at the drop of a hat?

Anyway.

HTC - Products - HTC Desire - Specification

Umm....

Nope, sorry. Can't find multitouch mentioned anywhere in the specs.

The digitizer is capable of sensing two points at the same time, but hardware limitations mean that if the points get too close, or cross axes then the points can swap axes, so not 'True' multitouch. My guess is that's why HTC don't market it as such.

Now, go and troll somewhere else.
