The e-mail being reported is an invitation to fill out a form to participate and contains no non-disclosure limitation.

In the past if you responded by filling out the questionnaire it contained the non-disclosure limitation and you agreed to not discuss anything about the soak test outside of a private Motorola forum.

I assume this questionnaire has the same limitation found in previous soak test questionnaires.

If you choose to sign the agreement and then choose to not do what you agreed to ... I think it says an awful lot about you ... and I don't much care what rationalization you come up with ...

(My assumption is that it will be a tweaked 6.7.247.)

To me it's a matter of honor and integrity, something I was taught long ago. What you do is your business and tells us the kind of person you are.
Lew

Just to clarify, I am not going to be a soaked and have not received any email. I'm only reporting what I have read on other forums. I never signed up to be a soak tester.:

Yep so okay to talk about, I'm already on .247 so it wouldn't do me any good to sign up.

I agree with Thom, if you sign a NDA don't post info covered by it here. :)

If you can't FXZ back to .905 for some reason (like on .235 or higher) it won't to you any good to apply cause the update will fail.[/QUOTE]

A tweaked version of 6.7.247would no longer be version 6.7.247, it would be 6.7.248 or higher. Having two even slightly different ICS builds with the exact same version number would be a tech support nightmare for both VZW and Moto. Anyway, I'm sure that someone who gets a hold of it will compare the MD5 of the leak to the Soak OTA just to verify.

Did you really just say, 'It is, unless it isn't?'
It has been stated on at least two other forums in a galaxy far far away that

"Soak test will begin friday at 3 pm est and will end at 10 pm est the ota will be pushed the following week the soak build is 247 so those on 247 that have or have not gotten an invite will not recieve the soak or ota u are already on the official ota which is 247"

Not my quote and not sure if he/she meant today or next Friday.
We will see how this rumor holds up.
I will tell everyone that I have no direct knowledge of any of this being true, just read it in two different places..

That is correct. I assume the number will be higher than 6.7.247. It is all conjecture and will happen when it happens. I am only guessing.

The build date for 6.7.247 was 2012.09.27 ... more than two weeks ago ... a long time for this kind of activity.

I still wonder why the timestamps in 6.7.247 are KST (Korean Standard Time).

Moto has been pushing Atrix 2 for AT&T and Bionic is next. I seem to recall that .905 was floating around for a long time before getting pushed so the build being fifteen days old is a good sign IMHO.
If you look in the kernel version it also indicates it was built or compiled on a different computer than the rest. w21529@zkr30lnxdroid18 #1 instead of
hudsoncm@il93lnxdroid83 #1 Maybe it had something to do with adding the JB patch and this build was done in Soul South Korea? Moto does have facility's there but That's all just speculation on my part.

You could be right. I remember it as much shorter ... I could be wrong.

There are no build dates in the System Information for Gingerbread. Now with ICS they are including the Build Date and that makes tracking a lot simpler.

So the soak test lasts only 7 hours? Is the soak test for actual consumer testing of the new OS or is just a test of delivering it because 7 hours doesn't seem very long to do a test.

Also, should we wait to hear that this is the actual 247 and is rootable before we upgrade?

The operative word is "whimsical". Everyone want to treat it like a well planned out activity and ... it is different each time ... it is unpredictable ...

You may recall that 5.9.905 ... the invitation e-mails went out 30 days before the soak test ... when the soak test occurred they sent it to some people who had signed up for the soak test (but not all of them) ... at the same time they sent it out to some people who had not signed up for the soak test (but not all of them). The soak test was very short. They copiled the results. They then pushed the OTA out to everyone.

Whimsical ... your questions will be answered after it happens.

IMNHO you would want to verify that whatever is OTAd is root-able (that's the pessimistic Droid X owner talking).
