[Verizon] [rom]jbsourcery v5.4-lte[06/07/13] jb4.2.2 The Final Call

It's a captivate. The first time I tried I wasn't familiar w/ the Dalvic cache location so zI didn't remove that. With that exception, everything else was per the tutorial. Would like to try it out - the rom I am using now had aroma installer but I still had to run it 2-3 times before it finally booted into something besides recovery - but it finally worked. Anotherwords, I got into a custom rom but it was a back door fluke for lack of a better description. The difference it seems is that a compatible kernel was loaded with the rom. Is this kernel (devil) now on my os (and it will work w/ JB Sourcery) regardless or do I need to load another kernel for Sourcery to work?

Sourcery is only for the Galaxy Nexus. Loading roms for a completely different phone will always cause a bootloop. may have a negative consequence on your phone in the long run, but that is mere speculation on my part.

I would suggest going to a captivate forum and finding roms there to install.

Is there any plan - or even ability - to backup JBSourcery system settings? It'd be great to have ringtones, notification sounds, soft key and battery mod options, etc. saved to we can automatically resotre them.

No doubt it has been suggested and I missed it, but is it even possible without messing up a whole lot of other stuff?
Is there any way to do this? I LOVE this ROM, but hate having to redo all my customizations again. There's so many of them I have a hard time remembering which ones I changed, let alone what type of change I selected to make the change.....AAGH! Error! Error! Faul...ty! Must ster...i...lize...

Now my head's starting to hurt. Thinking is hard!

OK I flashed the Franco kernel and then back to an earlier Trinity and now my battery stats are blank. All that shows is what's left and how long on battery.

Sorry, broke my own rule. What I meant was I was trying the fix for the battery drain as in the push notification. I flashed Franco r283-384 that I had downloaded from Sourcery Tools in CWRecovery and then immediately flashed Trinity 1344-307 JB stable 35 downloaded from derkernel.com in the same session.

Has anyone else had their battery stats disappear?

TIA

they go away, or start over..right?

No. They just go away. I ran all day today like that with no battery stats. Tonite I restored to my last backup of 2.4 so I could have my stats back. At this point I am seeing brcm_patchram_plus in battery and my kernel version (via settings -> about phone) is 3.0.31-04229-glb829f6-dirty.

TIA

Try a reboot between flashing of kernels, since the point of doing this temp fix is to get system core values to flash in from franco's kernel a reboot might be needed for those to stick.
