I have been using K-9 for some time, and tried various other inc. maildroid etc.

I have recently found this app called AquaMail and I am finding it to be excellent so thought I would mention it on here in case others are looking to try an alternative email app. The developer is also very helpful.
(I couldn't find any other threads for it, but if there are already I apologise and mods please delete this).

Paid Version (on sale at present I think,

Another vote for AquaMail. I'd been using K9 since I got my Android (almost a year), and found it better than stock, but otherwise kind of meh. AquaMail is intuitive and I like the display a lot.

I think with email programs - as with many other categories - there are several options that will do the job just fine, and sometimes your choice is based on which simply feels right.

this app is the real deal , this app has a good developer that knows what he is talking about i have email him twice to ask a question and he has gotten back to me fast , and before this app i was using Kai ten Email and i ask that developer about the led not being a solid color and he reply's back you can use a third party app to fix that , so same thing happen with this app so i email this Dev and he reply's back and saids this ( To select a solid color in the app’s LED color chooser, you can slide your finger diagonally, towards the top-right corner of the large color chooser area, past the corner, and then let go The color selector will stick to the top-right corner, which is a fully saturated (solid) color and guest what he knows what he's talking about it work ! now i have a solid red light when i get a email ,So if anybody wondering about the price of this app is it worth it because this app works great and we get a developer that knows what he is talking about and doing and last he s been adding some great new things to this app , so this is a very good app to have as your email app for anyone interested

I use K-9 because it lets my email messages reside on my SD card. But I would still like an email app which can filter POP messages into separate folders based upon certain criteria (e.g., Sender, Subject, etc.). Many apps can do this for IMAP, but I haven't found an Android app which can do this for POP.

Is there one that I've overlooked?

The only two problems I have with the native Gmail app are that 1) some thumbnails don't show up in the emails that have images attached and the ones that do are WAY too small and 2) I can't seem to get starred emails to make a notification sound & vibrate while the rest of the emails remain silent and make no vibration. The previous versions of the Gmail app had perfect size thumbnails but for some reason they made them especially small in this newest ICS version.

It's my understanding that in order for any app other than Gmail to have a thumbnail preview of attached images it must first download the image because of how Gmail handles attachments on the server, right?

Will any of these apps mentioned do what I'm looking for? Tried K9 and the images don't even have thumbnails so it doesn't work for that portion of my needs at all. I just wish Google would make those two things work properly for me and then I would be good as I'm not looking for too many features in an email client.

I just installed and tried aquamail seems quick but i have the same problem as with innomail using my hotmail account.

I have lots of folders outside of inbox main folder... none of these folders show on my device... thats a problem for me...

can someone explain to me how i can fix this so all my folders show not just 'inbox'

This is the only problem I've found with Aquamail. I hope the dev is watching this thread as the inclusion of selected folders from originating email systems would be great. The hotmail app allows you to do this.

Just tried Aqua Mail today and like it. Similar issue for me. I don't want to sync all of my folders, but I do want to move mail into those folders. The folders don't show on my device unless I have them set to sync.

I posted on the forum there. Hopefully there's some way to do that as I'd purchase the pro version, if so.

I have Enhanced Email free from Amazon, but it failed me in that it won't let me use an alias for my from and reply to addresses. I have a gmail account, but don't use my gmail address. No way to set the alias in EE.

Can I see the mails in Aquamail by sender and not by subject?
Old thread, but I thought I'd revive it since I just started using Aqua Mail, and the last question had gone unanswered.

The answer is yes and no. You can change the display sort, but only in the Smart Folder (unified inbox), not the individual account inboxes. Odd, but it suits my needs. Here are the display options:

I know this is old topic, but I am having a problem with Aquamail and can't find a solution:
It shows "this server does not support IMAP Push", but I am on AT&T, I KNOW they support push
I can't get into the support forum, the website will NOT send me an activation email (yes, I looked in the spam). I've tried several emails and still nothing.

Any suggestions?

Hmmm...very strange. Really, very strange. I have used AquaMail for quite a while on several devices and several accounts with no problems. Several other people i know have had the same good results. None of us have had trouble registering in the forum and the developer has always answered questions promptly, ususally in well under 24 hrs. He does a fine job of supporting his app. I'm just not sure what to tell you except try again, I guess.

As for IMAP push, did you enable it in the settings? It has always worked perfectly for me but I've never used it with AT&T.
