Root 2.1 leak has been rooted

Something about this really doesn't make sense. If this guy really did manage to root 2.1 and it wasn't just an april fools joke, why not let everyone else in on the secret? Or if you really don't want to share it, why put it on youtube, and then complain about getting bothered because of it? One would assume that this person is fairly intelligent, so it's safe to guess that he knew the amount of attention this would generate. I'm guessing either attention whore or fraud, or probably both.

Also, the fact that there's no news of this on xda really leads me to believe that the whole thing is a joke. Even if the details on how it was done won't be released, I'm sure the devs over there would love to see some encouragement that it CAN be done.

Have any of the dev gods seen this yet?
Oh wait just answered my own question.......

Seriously why would you poke at the dev and us? Theres already enough people hounding and pestering the devs for 2.1 leak root. If its real, kinda think it is, let the dev release it when he/she wants to........

If this is real, i give my thanx and respect to the person who did figure it out.

YouTube - Droid 2.1 Eris Root

This isn't an April Fools joke. It's really been rooted. As of right now the creator refuses to release it because too many people bugged him about it. He just wanted to prove that it could be done and now he's quitting.

Hopefully he'll change his mind.

please sed for the love of god dont do this, think of all the little 2.1 eris's you would be exploiting!!! please please please

I promise you I'm not keeping anything from you. It's not my video, it's not my exploit and it's useless to me since I'm already rooted. This thread was made to hopefully show the dev how much people actually want the exploit and not to bash or antagonize him. Like I said, I hope he changes his mind.

This is by far the most ridiculous thread i have ever been apart of. I mean dont get me wrong, props to the dev who rooted 2.1 but really.. Why would they think that no one wants it? Being the dev who rooted 2.1 would instantly throw you into android celebrity status. Why on earth would you not release it because people were bugging you. Im a software engineer myself and when my boss gives me work that he cant think i can do i take it as a challenge. And when I get it I want to show it off, and i want everyone to use it. Everyone respects the devs and the hard work they put into this stuff. Why would someone bother them?
