Help JC6 for i7500 (1.6) is out

JC5 is good and no have no-sleep bug, but JC6 is very very reactive, and the sblock key is very fast.

What cause no-sleep problem? (PDA, CSS, BOOTLOADER, PHONE or CSC) ???

How I make a mix of roms, JC6 and JC5?

What pieces of JC5 and what pieces of JC6 I can use to flash a good mix rom?

how did you check that JC5 doesn't have that bug??

Any method to root JC6 ??

I'm from India which is stuck on II3, and i've updated to JC6.
I still get the call-drop issue(callers get the message that "caller is busy").

Free RAM shows up as 40MB initially, but space clogs up over 2 days use to 18MB. Then i reboot. Also phone slows down and apps are in general slow when multiple tasks are opened.
Any way to root JC6 with 1.6?...i wish i could increase cache size, overclock and make my phone fly.

Install the firmware from the links I gave above, the ones with integrated Recovery. Boot into recovery and select "Enable SU".

hi there i installed jc 6 on my galaxy but then compare to the ii5 my battery was draining very fast hence after 2 days of use i switched back to ii5 nd think that the battery is lasting long.

in terms of battery performance which one would u suggest jc 4 or jc 6

please reply

many thanks

there seems to be no "no sleep bug" in JC4. ve been using this firmware ovr 2 weeks now n am pretty impressed with the battery life of this phone on minimal usage ...

Maybe a simpler way to check whether the sleep bug exists :), open the dialer and type "*#*#INFO#*#* and under battery info, check the run time vs screen time.

Having said this, ve read in other threads that sleep bug is caused when u turn on an option under the "security n Location" settings. But since i always have the option "Use wireless n/w's" setting turned on, its safe to say that the sleep bug is not caused bcoz of tat option. vent tried fiddling wit other options though.:p

those of you who dont have 3g problems may be just fine with jc4 baseband (phone part of firmware) others, like me, would be better with ih8 baseband which does not have the 3g bug nor the no sleep bug but it has not so long battery life like the newer versions. you can use baseband whichever you want in combination with any ofirmware by just odin the phone part.

to compare, when i charge my phone to 100% in the evening then unplug and dont touch it i get with ik5 baseband 93% and with ih8 89% left. where i have to reboot the phone with ik5 to be sure battery is not empty in the morning and i can not use 3g since it just does not work...

JC6, flashed 12 hours ago. Two times no sleep already. First time was after flashing and restoring my backup and that kind of stuff, but it was triggered by massive installations I suppose. Second time was this morning. It was sleeping during the night. Alarm went of at 10:50, and I received a call at 10:55. Don't know which one triggered it. At 13:18 when I checked it was 2 hours 22 minutes without sleep so it pinpoints it around that time. It was connected to the PC around 01:00 but that didn't trigger it, and it wasn't charged during the night so that didn't trigger it too. Unknown reason for the second no sleep bug. I've now flashed II5 baseband so we'll see how it goes.

No 3G bug for me. Are you sure that the JC4 baseband doesn't have the no sleep bug?

I've already flashed with IH8 and JC6. Here are my results (I will update)

Running: 23%
Screen: 17%
Wifi: 0.5%

2 hours since flash, 3G downloads (8 apps downloaded, sync all), 2 emails read and replied.

Battery dropped about 8% (75% -> 67%)

The phone acts little weird, some apps are not shown in the main menu but they are available as a shortcut to the desktop (add -> applications).

Tonight (it's 15:45 in Spain) I will wipe the phone, reinstall and perform a full charge overnight. I will post my results before doing this.
