Thank you so much for your post Batkinson 001 ....... I have spent 3 hours trying to research how to download Flash onto my Tab 2 10.1..... I even did a complete factory reset, losing everything in the process of course.... I then read your advice...... followed the link and it was sorted within about 20 seconds! Much appreciated. Thank you. Truffles x

I did it and I'm no expert...

You can imagine how upset i also was when i just bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and it didnt have Flash Player which is one of the main reasons why i bought it over ipad. I saw red. Then into google searches..after many many days and hours of frustration, almost giving up, and then SUCCESS! If i can do this so can you... I'm spelling it out below in simple terms...which is basically what everyone else here is saying...

Ok
1. Make sure you select in your Setting, under Security..'unknown sources'
2. Then ensure you insert a MICROSD card in the slot at the top of ur tab. I used a 1 GB...helps if its not full if you take it from another device.
3. Then....Click on link provided above by other members which is the .apk file of flash player....and save it to the 'sdcard' and not the extsdcard...samsung have a weird way of naming different memory..

4. On the right hand bottom of ur Samsung Tab screen click onto the file once downloaded (where the battery symbol is ..click it).
5. It will ask you to install it....youre in business! (just make sure its saved on the sdcard)

If you want to check that Flash Player is installed..go to Settings, Applications, Running.... it should be there :)

Cheers
PS no you dont need any fancy browser..i just used the standard on the tab..

I think the ^^^ above poster mentioned to use the .17 one, not 27, you need the older version.

Can you guys walk me through the step by step for doing this. I clicked the unknown sources box and successfully downloaded the archived flash player, newest version .27. I still cannot view flash videos online, do i need to use a certain type of browser?

All you had to do is open your browser to AF, go to this post and download the APK posted above, then installed, done, no need to save it to the Micro SD card. Simply make sure that you have settings/security and make sure make sure unknown sources is check marked before you install ;)

I solved the problem with Flash Player using the instructions below but for some reason this morning, had to load it again! I still cannot watch BBC iplayer - I get a message saying switch on wifi when it is already switched on. When I go to ITV iplayer it goes to the download iplayer through Playstore page. It won't even give me the option to click on the internet choice. Any ideas, I'm new to Tablets. Thanks.

Thanks all for the information above - I have tonight got my flash working on my Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0). One bit I struggled with and I dont think is clear in the above is that once the flash is downloaded you have to activate it on the tab before it will work - it's not automatic. Here is the process I followed, sorry if it is repeating any of the above. Good Luck!

1. choose the internet and try a website that has flash content. Try channel 4OD in the UK (i was getting BBC iplayer to work before i installed flash so it might not be a good indicator).
On channel 4OD if you click on any video to play, it should say you dont have flash or something similar

2. you can also look to see if you have flash installed. go to

settings - applications manager - downloaded.

If Adobe Flash isn't in the list, you havent got it.

3. in another forum it said you need this. I dont know what it is or if you really need it but I downloaded it anyway.

go to the 'play store' icon - search for 'apk installer'

i downloaded the 'graphilos studio' version (it is free & was top of the list of results)

this will appear as a new app if you swipe through your screens

4. next go to settings - security - unknown sources, and untick this.

this allows you to download stuff from outside the app stores etc

5. go back to the internet and search for 'flash archived versions'

the top result in google should be

helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html

scroll down the page until you get to the subsection

"flash player for android 4.0 archives"

i chose and clicked on the latest version & it download automatically.

as of today it was 'flash player 11.1 for android 4.0 (11.1.115.27)

6. This is the bit i struggled to find

Go back in to 'settings - storage - downloads'. In here you should now see the flash you have just downloaded. You need to activate it. click on it and it does it automatically.

7. Now reset your download security in 'settings - security - unknown sources'. Put the tick back in the box.

8. now choose 'settings - applications'. If all has gone well, in the list you should now see adobe flash player.

9. The final step is to test it out on the website that wasn't working before eg channel 4od and hopefully it will now work.

I hope this helps

Having spent the day trying to get flash working on my wife's Note 10.1, following all the instuctions, and failing to get it working. I downloaded various archived versions, uninstalling and reinstalling, rebooting etc. I finally decided to research some browsers.
I came upon the Puffin Browser and downloaded the free version. Flash worked fine, however it is only a free trial. The full version cost me less than

This version is Flash Player 11.1 for Android 4.0 (11.1.115.17)

most sites which are linking a manual download are offering .12.

I tried this for my Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and it worked to make videos work (ex. Daily Show episodes) but there is no sound. Thank you for this info though, video playback is a good sign! Now just any ideas on the audio. Yes volume is turned up.

I went through this all last weekend. I was trying to get my kid's math game (flash web page) to play on Dolphin because I heard Dolphin still supported Flash, if flash was present.

On my Razr MAXX HD, I downloaded and installed Flash, and Dolphin (current version) worked fine on that web page and in settings showed Flash was "on" (or maybe "always on").

On my Samsung Tab2 10.1, I installed the same version of Flash, and the same version of Dolphin was there, but I could never get flash working in Dolphin. It always showed Flash as "always off." It does work fine on the stock Samsung "Internet" browser.
