Root Droid Neural Network Live Wallpaper

I just looked at Droid Life's walkthrough of the new 2.1 official update:

Video: Review of the Official Motorola Droid 2.1 Update | Droid Life: A Motorola Droid Blog

And his background was the "neural network" live wallpaper we've all seen on the Nexus One. Although, this one has a Droid-y looking rugged background with red going in all directions.

I like it! Much more Droid-like!

I DO NOT want to leave Cyanogen for a stock ROM, but will this be included in future ROM releases? I sure hope so.

(Actually, is it possible to get it now somehow? By pulling apart the update.zip?)

This is the .apk from ESE53/ESE81 that is "Droided out"

LiveWallpapers.apk

This should work on CM, but make sure you have a backup of the original file if it doesn't.

This needs to be pushed to /system/app/

It will replace the NexusMod LWP, though you can download it again from the market.

It force closes on me when I try to preview it. I'm not that great with UNIX so I probably did something wrong.

Mac UNIX terminal:
Code:
/Applications/android-sdk-mac_86/tools/adb shell
su
sysrw
mv /system/app/LiveWallpapers.apk /system/app/LiveWallpapersbak.apk
sysro
exit
exit
/Applications/android-sdk-mac_86/tools/adb push /Applications/android-sdk-mac_86/tools/LiveWallpapers.apk /system/app/LiveWallpapers.apk
