Ok...this is the 2nd time in a row.

Downloaded no problem. During install, with the droid coming out of the box, it gets to about a third done, then I get the triangle with the ! inside it.

The phone reboots and I get the "update failed".

Stock but rooted, everything thawed, never used a custom rom or anything.

Unless someone has a better idea I am thinking FDR then try for the update again.

Any other ideas?

Have you decided to try and put a custom rom on it, this could potentially solve the issue.

I am assuming you were doing a OTA update from your carrier?

OTA ICS fails at 25% due to bootstrap - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com
905 OTA had failed for me but the SBF file was all over the internet, so i just used RSD to flash it. ICS is now failing and i was in search for a SBF but couldn't find one that worked. came across the above post and followed the instructions. (phone rebooted fine after) I had never heard about the bootstrap causing problems, so i was kinda surprised i hadnt run a crossed it before. my OTA is DL now so i cant say if it fixes it or not. will update when OTA is finished.

Update: the above link worked. OTA installed. if anyone has an account over there, please thank the OP from me!!!!!

OK, I installed it this morning and I'm up and running.
I love it!

Here is the steps I took:

1st: I took out my sd card just to play it safe.

2nd: I began the update, YES it hangs for like 45 minutes even though it says it will only take 10-15 minutes. Its downloading in the background and you dont see anything happening and some of you are not waiting long enough before you go pulling the battery

3rd: Then it told me that the download is complete and begin the install. So I did. That took about another 30 minutes.

PRESTO!!! MuthaF----oh nevermind

Just be patient biatch.:turtle:

Ca you tell I'm happy now.
I'm taking my Bionic out for Ice Cream later. :lollypop:

GOOD LUCK GUYS and GIRLS

Followed the directions... Everything makes sense for Safestrap, except I had no "hijack" file.

I deleted "logwrapper" and renamed "logwrapper.bin" to just "logwrapper".

Rebooted, without any troubles, and am re downloading the ICS update. We shall see I suppose....
think i read about some people not having the hijack file, but changing the other two did allow OTA to update. Might be a safe strap thing.

Also realize that part of the reason an update can fail is the battery level... this was often seen in the Rezound if the battery was under 70%... the update would stall or stop until the battery was over that level. Not sure the exact level on the Bionic, but could be part of the issue.

That makes sense, but so far every time I have tried, I have been 100% starting out. Charging as well as not charging. :)
