weird request

I know its weird but how do I ruin my phone? I want a new phone because my boot loader is fried so can't root. Id like to get a replacement. Ty

your bootloader is fried? wtf does that even mean? If your bootloader fails, then your phone won't boot and it is already ruined.

I can't boot into recovery or safe mode or up on the dpad mode

you sure you are doing it right?

1) Turn the phone off

2) Slide the keyboard open. Press and hold "X"

3) Press and hold the power button.

P.s. id like it to be software not hardware so don't have to pay 80dollar insurancd fee

Why don't you try to update to the official 2.1 and see if it fixes the issues and redoes everything

I haven't gotten the ota yet and can't force it becaudse can't boot into recovery

Check the tone of his posts. He isn't looking for solutions to fix his problem. Read his third post.

There are actually quite a few options he could use to fix his phone. If it boots, then the bootloader is fine. But he isn't interested in that. He just wants a new phone.

Exactly. The bootloader is fine otherwise you wouldn't get past the Motorola logo. Your recovery partition is screwed up, and if you can't get into safe mode then likely you messed up the partitions somehow. If you can't figure out a way to fry it (which is extremely easy) then I guess your SOL because I am not going to HELP YOU commit fraud.

Try to flash a new recovery in adb or terminal using the flash image command like so,

flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img

replace recovery with the name of the file your flashing.

OR.. just reflash the 2.0.1 SBF file.. and start over.

I replaced itcfwith update.zip and it said permission denied
