hey all
i just got my samsung galaxy (and love it), but when i make/receive calls, i can barely hear the person on the other end. i have my call volume set to the highest (5), but it's still just too difficult to hear. has anyone else had a problem like this, or does it sound like a defect? maybe there's an app that can fix this? i bought my phone on ebay, so i have two more days to report any issues defects with my phone to be able to return it.

thanks in advanced

hi
ive got the same issue, seems that volume of voice from the other end is quite low and myself sometimes have difficuilties hearing what people say. updated to H8 this afternoon but havent tried calling anyone. will try it later ok? maybe this new firmware improved it, i hope :)
as far as for new firmware i noticed keyboard a bit snappier and a bit more accurate, which is very good (im using HTC keyboard). battery life improved a little i think. then menu is indeed a bit faster and the whole phone seems to be a bit faster. but what i noticed that on wikitude my GPS doesnt work anymore. will try it again later though.
by the way i did factory reset after updating firmware so it cant be an issue with that.
ahh.. it seems that 3g works a bit faster now o just it seems to me :) not sure yet.
sorry went off topic too much but about the call volume indeed its low compared to my old Nokia N73 :) but not sure if its possible to improve it with later firmwares.
one more thing whose got issues with camera? i think ive got the pictures come out a bit blurry but when u focuse it it looks so good but as soon as you press shutter the picture comes out different (worse) compare my pics taken when i had FF firmware and they look better :)

In my phone's case it's just the opposite. The call volume is quite high, so I need to set the volume on a medium term, not high but neither low, in a way to feel confortable.

I updated to H8 yesterday but it didn't fix the speaker volume. I think I'm just going to return it, because there's quite a bit of static or ringing going on, which makes me think that theres a problem with the speaker. If there's a problem with the next one, ill assume its that Samsung may be able to fix with an update.

hey again
it seems for me that volume improved alot now i hear people very clearly and i even needed to lower down volume by few steps as it seem too loud, hehe. now im very happy with volume but there's another issue - BATTERY!
gosh its killin me yesterday i said that with H8 it looked like its holding better but today ive managed to squeez only about 5hours out of my phone (autosync off, gps off, 3g off, background off, basically everything off) even all apps killed with taskkiller and apn switched off via APNdroid.
read many forums that people manage to get 2.5 days out of normal usage but me never since i bought managed to get a day :( no matter how much stuff i switch off on the phone it still doesnt hold longer than 12-14 hours.
dont even know what to do...
