So I am not familiar with networks at all. I am pretty good at following instructions but this guide is not working for me. I input each command one by one and nothing ever happens. COM port is correct as well but im getting nothing

Edit: Nothing happens when I enter a command

Make sure to have installed the drivers for Optimus M, but also using Windows 7 has always work. You could give it a try.

I can't seem to get the service restored to my phone. Here is the output form QDXM. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I may be doing wrong or an alternate route to getting service restored?

Seems you are not reading the instructions. you are typing "RequestNVItemWrite esn" only. Where is the esn after this? You need to write RequestNVItemWrite esn 0x3434343434(example) you need your esn to go after this which should look like the one i wrote. You did the MEID right except you forgot the 0x right before you wrote the A10000. By the way, I don't think your meid is A10000 it should be A00000.

If you need any help, i'll be surely glad to help you. I've done restoring service about 10-20 times. ;)
You can pm me or just email me Supraflyx@gmail.com
I'm always checking my mail, but barely on these forums so I think it's wiser to send an email :)

Just use command RequestNVItemWrite meid 0xMEID_HEX_HERE

See the 0x??? yea you have to have that at the beginning.

Yeah what Sammys said as well :D

When you do achieve service, remember to go to LGNPST and do something known as NVBackup. It restores all of the settings, including the meid the esn so you won't have to do that all again. All you would need to do when you go back to restoring service would be just NVBackup and a prl lol. Saves loads of times. It should really be one of the first things mostly Every user on here should do after rooting and installing LGNPST correctly. Saves so much time instead of going to install qxdm and whatnot lol.

Hell yeah  I was gonna do something like that for the Optimus V, because they have more stuff to backup because Virgin Mobile has a special password for each and every phone. If you lose that password (the AAA key) you will never have 3G again. Of course metro doesn't do this (Thank God!!) :)

is there some way to get this info, and any other data that would be needed to keep my phone operational, BEFORE I try to root? just in case.
