Galaxy Nexus vs Lg Nexus 4?

The Lg nexus 4 will cost $299 off contract for 8 GB and $399 for 16 GB. Who will sell their Gnex for the Nexus 4?

Nexus 4 is $349 for 16Gb off contract, not $399. They already removed Galaxy Nexus from Play store. That's surprising, I thought it will be up there at least 5~6 more months.

On paper the LG looks better, but I will hold on to my Galaxy Nexus. I have always preferred Samsung hardware to LG and I don't think that the LG improvements are mind blowing...

Camera:
8MP sounds 60% better than 5MP. But if you understand digital photography, you know the sensors can vary the quality of the picture greatly.

Quad-core vs. dual-core:
Just cause there are four processors does not mean they are being used properly. The developers have to write the apps to use all four processors effectively and I have not read that this is the case too often.

2GB RAM and 16GB of memory:
Score one for LG

LG with a bigger and better screen:
Point to LG, but can I really tell the difference?

Why does this suck? You were going to buy the Galaxy Nexus, but now its predecessor is officially announced and starts at a very similar price point to what the Gnex was selling for on Play. That sounds like a great thing, I'd be thrilled that I hadn't pulled the trigger. You can wait a month or so, get the phone via Google Play, and I imagine that it will be rooted and running custom roms very quickly, being a Nexus device. The Galaxy Nexus has an incredible dev community, I'm sure this phone will have the same. Be happy, I'd love to have this phone!

Having said that, I see no reason to trade up. Most of the cool features announced will be coming to the Gnex via 4.2. Wireless charging and some of the other cool hardware features are great, but its not a phone to jump to from the Gnex. Am I the only one these days that still thinks it's wise to skip a generation and not trade up once a year? I am on Verizon though, so maybe I'm just bitter I'm not given the option to purchase off Play.

How about the LG has Gorillia Glass 2.

The LG has glass on the back which would be better build quality then the plastic on the back of the GNexus.

I know that pixel numbers don't mean much for picture quality as lens quality, sensor size, software. From what I saw, LG's camera in Optimus G is on par with GS3 which Gnex is hopeless to come close to.

Regarding processor, I agree that number of cores doesn't mean the twice performance yet. But the Adreno 320 GPU on S4 pro chip is 2~3 times more powerful than SGX540 GPU in Gnex. So that's big deal for gaming, graphics intensive apps.

What is it with the industry and moving away from physical storage!?!? Honestly, I love the convenience of the cloud, and couldn't see myself without it, but I like on device storage. I know Google and everyone else thinks we are always connected, but in the real world, sometimes we are not, and for those times having my music pinned means I can listen to it or I can enjoy it without lag. Just saying.

The Nexus 4 looks sweet, but I won't upgrade just yet.

Nice aesthetic! But I keep all my phones in a case. So this would not matter to me. And it reminds me of the iphone4 and how slippery it was with two sides of glass.

Don't get me wrong. If I was buying a Nexus today I would not pause at all to buy this one. I just have had better success with Samsung in the past and I don't see any huge leaps forward here that will make me super jealous of Nexus 4 owners. Slightly jealous. Not super.

Yup... poor me.. Im on VZW and I doubt i'll see a non-LTE Nexus 4 on big red, so im sticking with the Gnex. Not like 4.2 is mind altering anyhow.

The Gorillia Glass 2 is 20% thinner then then the first. So I would assume its also 20% thinner then what Samsung used. The touchscreen is also inside the glass now just like the iPhone 5 so you you get better touch response.

Yeah, I am rooted, unlocked, and ROM'med, so I will get 4.2 fairly quickly I am sure. Definitely won't depend on Verizon to get that!
