Loving Razr Maxx HD, a Couple of Questions

Hey. Believe I made the right call as battery life is fantastic and I think JB will make this smoooother. Btw, is it really called "butter"? So funny and needed by Android.

1. Can there really be no decent cases on market yet? This is supposed to be a "Flagship" phone. I drop my phone a lot and want a Commuter Otterbox (not out yet, no eta, of course) or a Ballistic (not even rumors) Anybody seen anything other than bleak thin silicone?

2 Can't find where to control screen animations? Feel dumb but that's nothing new...;-)

3. I have to have antiglare and the Vzw ones are great but expensive. Anyone else using antiglare screen protectors they like?

4. Can I take a screenshot natively without root yet? Can't find that either, if so.

Many thanks, all. Enjoy the juice...

David

To disable animations on your RAZR HD (like the CRT-style screen off)
  • Settings -> Developer Options -> Animation Scale (you can change the duration the effects or disable completely)
Can I take a screenshot natively without root yet? Can't find that either, if so.
Hold Pwr + Vol Dwn to take a screen shot (NOTE: You must press them both at the same time, and hold for a few seconds)

Congrats on the new phone. Not a bad choice either. :)

Never liked screen protectors, but you might want to check out this thread:

I have the anti-glare from the VZW store and *hate* it. It makes everything fuzzy and is just horrible beyond words. BUT I am keeping it on till ghost armor gets them in stock or zagg comes out with a super high quality one that does not have that stupid orange peel look. My screen takes a bunch of dings, and the ghost armor I had on my OG Razr looked good and held up well and took all the dings with no issues.

I got the Trident Aegis for a good price and it came with what I consider a decent screen protector. It's a bit of a pain going on and off, but feels like good protection. It does add bulk, but I'd rather have it safe. Was going to wait for otter box, which I had on my droid 3, but tried this instead. It has covers for the ports which I like...they seem well made and stay in place.

Found it on amazon for $14.10 plus $5 shipping. They list for $34.95 on Trident's website. Trident offers a number of different lines with varying levels of protection, but currently the Aegis is the only one they offer for the RAZR HD. It's a pretty nice case in my opinion, though it does add bulk. For me it's worth it though. At work and out and about, I use the case. At home, I strip it down and enjoy the beauty of the naked phone!
