space key on keyboard

I am a mature age new android user (magic) and was attracted by the google ie non windows background of this phone. I have only had the phone for 2 days and cannot find the space key or bar on the keyboard to enable a separate word for email or google search typing.
Please set me straight.

It should be on the bottom middle of the keyboard, where you would expect to find it on a normal one.

There, under c v b.

I assume yours looks like this, the standard preset one?

Thanks. I feel embarrassed but I was mislead by the symbol embossed on the bar
