Welcome to Ice Cream Scamwich v2.0. Heavily improved from the last release. Implemented a bunch of ICS/CM7 functions, and this thing is along ways from its gingerbread home.

I thought you all might enjoy some new stuff. Totally stable and fit your everyday use.


This currently does not change your kernel. This means if you are overclocked, then you stay overclocked. If you have stock then you stay stock.


This ROM is/has

• Some build.prop tweaks, other random things
• Full ICS themed(More Added-fonts, progress bar, sliders, etc.)

*Toggle Tips-You can set which ones you want , and the order from Quickpanel settings.
FLASHLIGHT DOES NOT WORK- our phone doesnt have one, so this will FC your status bar, then it will pop back up in a few seconds.
Screen Timeout-works, but FC status bar during the switch. I just take both of these out of my panels.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS IN CWM
Download IceCreamScamwichv2.zip
Navigate to your recovery (vol up+Menu plus Power On.)
Wipe your dalvik cache, and the cache.
(optional- wipe DATA. You dont need to , but it may not be perfect, so...)
Select "Install Zip from Sdcard"
Chose IceCreamScamwichv2.zip.
let it do its thing.




Ive included some apps from the Stock merit (live wallpaper,etc). Ive installed wallappers, books and a couple others. Anything not here you can get at the play store.

This is NOT CWM flashable. download it, unzip and put the apps you want on your sdcard. Some apps have to be copied to system/app and some can be simply installed by long pressing in the file explorer. You can figure it out(wallpaper had to be on /app)

These first two pics are old, and are just illustrating swipe to remove. so the pulldown looks like the ones with the toggles, but you swipe like the first two show.

Dropbox seems to never want to work easy with me. I was 75% done when i put this up. Then got a flash error on their end. So i reuploaded but now it doesnt want to dl properly yet. Bad internet. As soon as i can verify it is good to go i will put up the link. Cant let other people put it in their phone without trying first.

The screenshots are not up to date. I changed fonts since. But it gives an idea. Screenahot not working tonight for some reason.

Instead of GoLauncher, try Holo Launcher. It's much lighter and easier on resources. As for the lockscreen, Go Locker has an ICS theme, or you can make it yourself.

i can understand that.

dropbox is the worst honestly.

use mediafire. i realize there's not an app for it, but it's much better than dropbox will ever be about uploading files.

Yeah this is just a beta, i was thinking of trying out holo, its on a couple roms I like. If i had the time to do the dock and app drawer myself, i probably wouldn't even be on Go. Still some tweaks to come so it could end up very different.

And I tried used that go locker and it added too much lag I thought. Really want to try and just do everything myself and not rely on apps too much. I have to look more into redoing lockscreens.

A bonus was the camera slide on the lockscreen works in GoL, I would really like to have that on here stock.

you realize that build.prop tweaks don't work, right?

build.prop tweaks are useless and they don't do anything.

most of the things that are in the build.prop are set by init.rc in the ramdisk of the boot.img. it doesn't matter what settings you put in the build.prop, if they are set to something else in the init.rc, then even though they are in the build.prop file they are not getting used.

I think you did grt with this even better than your first one deodex. Everything is smooth and with ADW launcher very smooth and camera 360 always my choice. Snappy rom ty. Btw booted up right away no issues

i'm well aware of that blog post, but also that's in ICS, not Gingerbread. there are very many differences between the two.

also, notice that he only confirms 3 but disproves over double that...

And some do work is my point you said they dont work. some do. The differences in OS dont so much come into play in the selected ones.

I didnt use ones that dont work. I dont even get how people could sit there and add tons of lines to the buildprop.

@zajchik i personally know pretty much nothign about the euro version. So I dont know how to bring it over to you. You have mms and video issues or something with US roms? maybe ill talk to james about it.

Isn't smali a PITA?! . I did the same thing to my Rugby while I was on Gingerbread. I even went as far as making full color images.

And Stayboogy, I can confirm that locking an app in memory works (build.prop stuff). The Rugby Smart took an ungodly amount of time to open the camera (~20s), but forcing the camera to memory cut that time in half, if not more. I tap it, it opened.

i never said that all of them didn't work--only MOST don't work. more that do not work than there are that do work actually...

Yup...I tried your rom and that SMS does not work as well as any so far, based on the U.S. roms. looks nice, but I'm not too bothered, because is not for us Europeans. Otherwise, everything was fine until the restore to the boot.
In boot no problems, looad lasted as anybody roms so far.

Yeah it's been driving me nuts. The new thing I'm working on is about50 times worse. Needed To put that on hold for a minute.

APN only improves the net and MMS, but not SMS.

Nice, if you care for ICS, I personally never understood the attachment or hype. I tried two ROMs once of ICS on my Fire and found the extreme amount of changes (the worst being the sliding dock and removal of the clear button in notifications and having that fingerprint-inducing swipe-away feature) too much.
