Turning on my phone sends text messages

Every time I turn my phone on it resends the last 4 text messages to everyone. Is there any where I can stop this besides deleting my text messages.

Now that is a strange one! Have you confirmed the recipients have received the extra texts? Does the time stamp show the texts being sent at different times? Is your phone rooted? Are you using the stock messaging app, or Handcent? or? Give us more details and maybe someone can help figure it out.

All of the recipients have confirmed they received duplicate texts of the ones I sent a couple hours ago. The time stamp on the texts is always the time I turn my phone on. So if I turned my phone on at 3:04 then all the texts it sent are dated for 3:04 and I can scroll back through and see the ones I sent early with the original time. My phone has not been rooted and I do not use any text messaging apps.

I usually keep my phone on all the time. But sometimes after my phone goes into sleep mode it won't allow me to send a text. Like if I went to type my text in the letters would not appear. The only way that I know how to fix that is by turning my phone off. So when I turn it back on it usually resends some of the text messages.

Wow... that is totally weird and maybe a issue with your particular unit as it is something I have not read others experiencing, nor myself.

Try using Airplane mode on then off next time without completely power cycling the phone and see if that does the trick. If all else fails you might want to consider swapping out your phone for a new one.
