How many HTC Desire HD owners are planning to get another HTC phone?

I would love to upgrade to another HTC phone, however current att lineup for year end doesn't have me very hopeful. Since I've been with att for two years already, I may be able to snag a HOX+ for 40 dollars, when it comes out.

While I am dissapointed in HTC for not updating the Dhd as promised, I still prefer their hardware and HTC sense.

Might be a snag though. My carrier historically allows us to get a new unit 6 months before the end of the contract, provided you sign up for another 2 years. When I get a phone sometime in the last 6 months, I wait till there is a unit I want. Was talking to my carrier representative and they are dropping early retention. Might delay replacement by a few more months (from January to April). Oh no.

I now have a Samsung SIII i9300. It hasn't docked me around or promised more than it delivered (camera and battery life). I can also exchange battery if needed.

MAybe I will leave Samsung after this phone for Apple (unlikely/boring) or Windows (unlikely/blah). But Like I fleet footed from Nokia before, Now I race from HTC - thanks for not upgrading my phone Bi-atches!

Do you mean contracts have to last a year and a half? Mine was 2 years or do you mean that you can't get your own contract for a year and a half?

A new phone would be nice to have though it's not really for the new features or official updates. I am not a power user so 1.2 GHz and 768 MB is more than enough to keep me happy. It's more, that a new toy brings new experiences.

Longer battery life would be very welcome though.

That's quite workable. If you can afford the initial outlay, you can get a 3 plan which has 600 minutes, 5K texts and unlimited data for

The unlimited data might negate the lack of SD Card space.

Less than £300 is not bad, but as my 32GB sd is practically full, I'd probably need something with more space.

So there I was in town and I thought, 'I'm due an upgrade. Let's go and find out what I can get '. Easy right? Hmmm. Went into the Vodafone shop first (I'm in the UK) as that's the carrier I'm with. Waited a bit (staff were all busy) but walked out when noone came free. Went into a Phones4U shop and spoke to a young chap. Was asking about the S3 as that's what I'd like. He said, 16GB version for

These phone "experts" in phone shops are anything but.

Most of us here could school them on phones, OS's, accessories, the lot. They're just there to sell phones with con deals to people who know nothing about phones imo.

Anyways, it's always cheaper to get your phone and contract direct over the phone or online in my experience, cuts out the experts in the phone shops commission.
