I just wanted to let you know I've chosen not to get the DROID DNA.

The device has amazing specs, from the high quality screen (SLCD) to the performance (my personal favorite is off screen buttons). However the battery is far too small and will not last an entire work day. Also the amount of storage memory is far too low to be functional. If this device shipped with a 2500 or 3300mAh battery and a microSD card slot, I

I remember that everyone was pleasantly surprised at the Rezound battery, even though it was only 1600ish mAh... Yes, when we have the MAXX, and Note 2 coming withh 3k+ batteries, it seems low, but like NA said, lets give it a shot. (Especially since he HAS the phone )

Testing doesn't need to be done. There is no possible way that a 2080mAh battery will be able to power that furnace-of-a-display with heavy use all day long.

My RAZR MAXX is down to 20% when I plug in most days. I seriously doubt HTC has pulled out a magical battery bunny.

I doubt they care if you pay full retail or not. Its the carrier that pockets that. HTC already made the sale to the carrier.


Posting on their Facebook page just means the poor PR intern they have at the time has to read off her script and reply to it. Its unfortunately not going to change anything as I doubt anyone with the decision making power will ever see it..

Not to pick a fight, but "testing doesn't need to be done". I guess Fuel Injection is a waste of testing? Direct Injection is a waste of time? Tuning fuel maps is a waste of time?

I replaced a 57" Rear projection with a 55" LCD panel with less than 1/3 the power requirements. Less than 1/3. It has been reflected in my utility bill.

Things change. This battery might well be undersized and create a huge ruckus; but to say "testing isn't necessary I will make up my mind without any facts" isn't a fair qualifier and likens to magazine racing. My xxx car has blah blah horsepower so it should whoop up on your yyy car with yyy horsepower.

Does anybody here have any clue the power draw of a SuperLCD3 screen at 5"? I sure don't hence I will be watching DA's testing.

That's a fair statement but you can use 2 different devices the same way and get different results. It's about power management, CPU efficiency and the like.

For most people this phone will definitely last an entire day. For some it will not, that's just how it works.

I DO think this exact phone needed to be pushed to all carriers. Makes it so much better for the consumer. More accessories, cases, etc...

I still don't understand why phones haven't pushed well above 100GB. I remember when I had my iPod classic and couldn't understand how people could buy 16GB iPods and have to choose what they put on their device.

With digital music, movies and apps taking up more space than ever, how are these phones supposed to be the center of entertainment with only 11 gigs?

Same here, sd slot would have been great also.

I think either multiple storage sizes like the ugly competitor (16, 32, 64) or a slot to expand. Either or and they would have really cut a bite out of the nay-sayers.

The form factor fixed versions would be price increases but allow them to keep their form factor (limited ports/access holes). The SD option would be more awesome for the end user to plug and play and grow as they use the phone.

Pretty sure that One X doesn't have a SD card slot. But the EVO LTE does .

Personally, the EVO LTE is my favorite phone. I left Sprint for Verizon when my discounts dropped and LTE wasn't in my area yet.

When I used the EVO LTE before leaving Sprint, I could not get through an entire day without a charger.

If actually given a choice, would you rather have all your music stored locally or on the cloud?

Local storage is about convenience, quality and efficiency. Streaming from the cloud results in a degradation of quality to maintain smooth playback, plus it chews through your data allotment and battery. There is a reason Pandora sounds like crap compared to a CD or Lossless format.

iTunes and cloud storage is KILLING quality, and nobody cares.

You have cost/building issues swapping screens out. Chassis is different overall form is different. That's a huge pipe dream. You still have to worry about space even when going from 16/32/64. The chips, pathways and logic still has to planned for and have the physical space.

Every "option" added to the manufacturing of something has cost and either you spread it out over the entire platform making the average cost higher (for all models/trims) or put it in the high spend category and ding them while the bare bones guys make up the fleet. There is no right answer.

Battery is up for debate. Its like a conversation about oil brands. At least that's what I have seen so far. People think bigger is always better whether its needed or not. But there is only two days of real world play on these phones to give us data points. Not a whole lot there.

Buttons are polarizing as well. Some like hard keys, some like soft keys. Some see a hard key as antiquated and of the days long gone. Others see a hard key as a way to free up screen space.

There is no perfect phone. There will always be something someone is vocal about and hates. My viewpoint is sit back and watch and make observed decisions. You can be part of the "I told you so's" or the "Med culpa"

I'm no audiophile, so I don't mind my music being streamed. I have unlimited data and have available WiFi 90% of the time, so the data isn't a big deal for me. WiFi also saves a ton of battery life another plus

In my case, cloud based storage is awesome because I can get anything I need anywhere I am (on a normal day) from any device.

I still love my local storage though. I feel for those of you who don't have WiFi available or have limited data.

Maybe the post wasn't clear. It would be 2 separate phones. Providing 4" offering and 5" offering. HTC tried to do this with their One S & One X but got seamrolled into making carrier specific devices.

I definitely fall into the 'onscreen buttons suck' camp. You take a gorgeous display and use 10% of the space for buttons...its one reason I hated the 3.5" iPhone web browser so much, you could barely see content around all the buttons and controls.

I can see MORE vertical content on my 960x540 RAZR MAXX screen than on the 1280x1080 RAZR MAXX HD screen. There is no excuse for that. The buttons are static, they don't change based on the app. There is no reason for them to be on screen, at all.

I probably should have added "Wolfson DAC" to the spec list (edit, just did). That would provide high quality headphone audio. I am an Audiophile and Videophile. With the quality of the hardware today, there is ZERO reason to accept substandard quality.

I posted this in another thread, but will repeat here. One thing that has piqued my interest is that while usage time is only slightly over half of what the Note 2 is, (22 for Note vs. 12.8 Hours for DNA) Standby time is actually 40% MORE (250 hours for Note vs. 350 hours for DNA). If those stats hold up, light users will get very similar battery life to the Note. Heavy users... Not so much.
