Extended Battery cases for Optimus v

Something new for me to learn about... what's an extended battery?
umm... a battery... that lasts longer. lol

@tedfam, I've never seen any for the Optimus V. They're pretty few and far between, and usually for pretty popular models. I assume you're talking about the same thing I am, about a case with a built in battery that lasts longer than the included one.

Since the Optimus V is a relatively obscure phone I wouldn't get your hopes up for finding anything like this.

I believe an extended battery is 3000mAh while the normal battery is 1500mAh

Yes. :p But in my search I found it to be a bit more than that. You actually need a new back cover for the phone to fit this type of battery (which is why I had asked about what type of battery that was.. the ops description made it sound like it was more than just an extended battery, which it is hehe). I had no idea such thing existed.

One of the reasons why I love this forum so much.... I almost always learn something new about my phone every day!

Hi all. This is my first post.

I have used the extended battery for 2 weeks now, purchased off ebay for 21.95 with free shipping. It does come with the back cover. 2800mah battery and it is wonderful!

I still do the airplane mode trick, for TWS issue, and the battery will last a heck of alot longer than the standard one did. I am very pleased with it. Search ebay for Optimus v extended battery.

Thanks All!
I did get the extended battery, which as someone else indicates enable the phone to last longer between charges-the one I ordered from ebay also comes with a back cover to make up for thicker phone profile. Is there no case that would cover the front, too? Does not seem like the snap together kind would work. The battery does work! With airplane mode and wifi turned off when traveling been able to go 2 days without a charge!

Now that you've had your battery for several months, would you recommend them to another member? Are they holding a charge? Are they continuing to last for "Days"? What's the latest information you could furnish us with to update your experience?

Thanks, ~Steve

Who did you buy from? Would you still recommend buying this product?

I ordered a few different cases after considering the dimensions of the standard Optimus and comparing it to other phone specs. This one came in the mail today:

Rugged Heavy Duty Nylon Canvas Protective Cell Phone Case Pouch (with belt clip) for HTC Evo/HD2/Inspire/Thunderbolt by Reiko

Only $2.39 on Amazon, how can you go wrong!

The phone fits great into the case, and I love the heavy duty clip on the back. The only issue is that the case is taller than the phone. I plan on modding the case by sewing the flap at the top. I'll post photos soon to show the mod. Once done it'll be perfect. :)
