if you have the sequent what do you think of it?

I really enjoy the phone and I love the feel, it's really lite. Having basically stock ics is a big plus not overwhelmed with bloatware. I am hoping some can root this to give it a cm9 or maybe a cm10 make over but as it stands I am really happy with this phone. The stuff zte put on the phone is nice like the alarm, world clock call log,mi-power, and timer/stop watch. Don't really care for the boost ID but I'm not forced to use it. I love the lock screen great idea for a simple long press to unlock, open camera or turn sound on or off.
I also love visual voice mail, I was on virgin and I really missed that feature. Bluetooth works well with my car stereo. I did have an issue with locking on to wifi but then I ran wifi fix from the play store and that is working great now. ( If you use this app make sure to turn mobile data back on from the system settings.) The connections optimizer is another nice feature to keep you on wifi when it is available. All in all really nice phone and the screen looks nice and crisp. Sorry I am rambling a bit but these are my first impressions.

I like the price, but I'm a bit hesitant to purchase another ZTE phone. I have the original Warp and in my opinion it is total and complete garbage. I have had nothing but problems since day one. I have tried several different ROMs to see if it would be an improvement but nothing seems to be very good. I had a Prevail as well, which was slow as hell but a LOT more stable and reliable when compared to the Warp. Rather unfortunate :-/

After the problems I have with this, do I take another chance with the new Warp? I'm almost thinking of waiting and saving up for the Galaxy II which I know is reliable.

Samseed So far the phone seems stable to me. I am power user. I stream audio books to my bluetooth stero while running google nav. and do various other multitask torture test.So far so good. However I've only been on the phone for five days so long term I am not sure. I hope the developers keep improving on the zte warp sequent. If ZTE wants to earn a reputation in the US support and updates are crucial. Low price to suck you in quality to bring you back.

I am plagued with random reboots and freezes. It will often freeze and not allow me to do anything for 30 - 60 seconds at a time. Sometimes it will then unfreeze and work normally. other times it will freeze and then reboot itself.

There are also reboots that are independent of freezing. For example, I could be talking on the phone and then in mid conversation it reboots itself.

Another issue I seem to have is with connectivity. If left idle, it has trouble reconnecting to wifi hotspots. I will often have to reboot the phone to get it to actually connect properly. I'm not really sure why, but if I don't, then i get the "no connection' errors.

Another major thing I hate is the REALLY low speaker volume. I find it extremely difficult to hear what people are saying, and I can't seem to find an app to fix it.

At first I thought it was a problem with the stock ROM itself. But I have tried several different ROMS and kernels and have not been able to effective deal with the problems.

I'm not sure what it is... I have had several phones in the past and never had the frustrating problems that I have had with this one. Even my Prevail was better. Sure it had CRAP for space and was slow, but it could be somewhat fixed with custom software. And at least I found it to be stable.

I got scared reading this, didn't realize that you were talking about the original warp until the end. Haha

Couldn't have stated the problems better myself!!! "DITTO"
However, I've had much better luck using other ROMS/Kernels. Much more stable although I have yet to put to the full test of installing all the Apps I've had before. I afraid of the slow down and crashes again so I've kept it basic. NO games (or non essential apps) that I see constantly in memory, I just remove them now. I've been testing mulitple ROMS and kernels over the last 2wks. It shouldn't be so difficult, but I think the biggest problem is that the Developers don't have the full source code for the Kernel from ZTE. If ZTE would just release it, I'm 100% sure we would have a rock solid phone. These guys have worked magic with very little.

Not really, Warp Sequent is 1.4G CPU, Independent Adreno 205 GPU, larger and faster Memory,qHD Screen(16:9), front face camera....lots of improvement

please correct me if im wrong, the MSM8655 has 2 variations 1ghz and 1.4 the processors including the GPU Adreno 205 are identical with the warp using the 1ghz variation and the Sequent using the 1.4ghz. the larger memory is correct 768 vs 512 with the same 4gb rom Emmc memory. Can you list the source where is says its faster memory?

My sources are the Qualcomm website - the Snap dragon Wiki site (which confirms and references the qualcom site) and the ZTE site.

Sorry, I missed your comments there :)

Actually in Warp Sequent, we choose the Dual-channel RAM and LPDDR2 (333 MHz), with them it improved the read/write speed. You might need to have a better experience in the video stream watching.
Better experience is right. Just got mine today (coming from prevail) video (youtube) plays without skipping. Nice I love youtube

Having never had the original warp, I can't compare. I upgraded from sprint LG optimus S.
Warp Sequent is leaps and bounds better than the optimus. Signal is about the same, the only issue is the no roaming of Boost over Sprint with the ability to roam...was in southern OH recently, once with each...once I got off main highway, Boost dropped off to nothing (well, so did Sprint on network), but at least Sprint phone allowed me to roam on another network...
The Optimus was good basic Android phone, and worked well doing basic stuff I needed it for...I didn't even root it.
Warp Sequent seems to be a good mid range phone at a good price...yes, maybe I would like the galaxy S2 slightly better...but not enough to justify $150 more ...especially since 4G is a joke around where I live.

I was considering the LG Marquee (same price) and/or the Samsung Transform Ultra (only slightly cheaper)... but their specs were lower

I have had absolutely no issues with this phone. Soon as we have a working CWM I will be producing a rom. Of course my phone already has some mods done to it. Like deodex, zipalign, init.d support. Overclocked kernel, debloated, as well as a port of google now from jellybean :)
im jealous :D, this is the 1st phone i haven't rooted by the first day i received it.

Went out Black Friday bought it @ radio shack 50.00 off :) Rooted it soon as I got home with DoomLORD script then installed NoBloat, Rom Toolbox, new SuperSu removed one that came with script.Added Launcher 7 and it is working wonderful ;) Do not be afraid to root it! No bad consequences  I like it a lot. Battery will take getting used to but installed juice defender (no clue if it works yet) and still cycling battery only 2 charges so far.Hear that they last a bit longer after a few cycles. Great phone! No regrets yet :)
