Help How do I delete photo albums on the GN2?

I recently synced all my photos to the GN2. I also hit the option to sync some Facebook albums from my FB account to my GN2. There is a lot of overlap between the two, and there are about 5 FB albums I want to keep while there are 50 I want to delete. How do I selectively delete all the FB albums? Can I do this from my Galaxy Note II directly, or can I do it from my computer?

Go into your photo GALLERY and hold your finger on the folder you want to delete. A trash bin will appear at the top. You can't select multiple folders to delete before you trash them.

With the Galaxy Note 2, when I hold my finger on one of the albums, it just gives it a nice green checkmark, says it's selected, and then the only option that comes up is the option to share it. I'm beginning to think this is an issue with the operating system/this particular phone as when I looked at previous threads, people were able to do it with their phones. Unless anyone has any other ideas? Can I delete these photos by accessing them through "My Computer" on a PC?

Yeah the gallery syncing issue is a bit of a pain in the but IMO. It had synced all of the FB pictures and the only way I could figure out to fix it was to delete the FB app and then when I reloaded it make sure not to sync the photo albums. And then last night i actually made a Google+ account and now those pics are synced to the gallery. Still trying to figure that one out. I get the same "share" option when I long press the folders.

Perhaps these can be fixed in an update? I'm new to Android, but I've heard that it's much more difficult to update an Android phone than the iPhone's updates. But at least our photos are backed up online, and they don't take up TOO much space on the phone. Most importantly, these are just first-world problems =P

And quite honestly, it's so worth it. There's so much more flexibility with the phone. I had to download a special program just to wraggle all my iPhone music to my computer (something happened to my other harddrive with all the music). It took me quite some time! With the Samsung, you can freely access the music in your folder and transfer it. Photos are easily transferable too. They also let you use it like a portable harddrive. With Apple, you could only get photos from it. So even if I get a "problem" like this, I'll still appreciate it what we have.

So you don't get this when you click the folder you want to delete?

Nope, that trash icon doesn't exist in my phone. The only option in the top right of the screen is the one to share, but the trash bin doesn't exist. I also have AT&T, so that may partly explain it. Oh well, it's not like it slows down the phone, so I won't complain too much. I hope they at least address it though. Thanks though for guiding me along the right path!

I think it has more to do with if the photos are locally stored or synced and not the carrier. If photos are locally stored then I get the Trash option.

If it's a synced folder then I get only the Share option.

Just haven't figured out what account is syncing my Google+ photos and how to disable it yet.

The folders on the left you have to click to open which will then display all the pics in that folder. From there you hold down on one of the pics. Is that what you did? Or are you trying to delete a folder from the column on the left?

Take some pics with your camera and see if it doesn't let you delete those.

Good idea. All mine are on my card. I upload pics to FB and photobucket and those I can delete from phone. Not sure I know what you mean by synced pictures.

Hmm, that's a good point too. I don't have an SD card yet so I don't know if that changes anything, I doubt it though.

I actually haven't uploaded any pics from my phone to the web, so I'm not sure if I can delete those yet. But all the pics I've taken from my phone I can delete off of it.

What I mean by synced is all the photos that have been uploaded to my Gallery from the web. Like Facebook albums. I didn't take those pics with the phone but they've been "synced" to my Gallery because I clicked that option when installing the FB app.

What it looks like is happening is that in your Gallery you can delete photos you have taken with the phone. However if you have allowed an app to "sync" photos to your Gallery you are not able to delete them. Instead you have to change the settings of that particular app to not allow it to sync to your Gallery to begin with.

Thinking.....Try deleting one of those pics from your FB album and see if it deletes from your phone.

Okay, go through all of your apps that you don't want to sync to your gallery and make sure that the settings to sync are shut off. Then Settings>Application Manager>All>Gallery>Clear Data. If you notice that Facebook keeps syncing (as was my issue), FB is the culprit. Uninstall and re-install it and it will have you go through the settings to prevent gallery sync. Good luck.
