Should I get it, or get something better?

Hey, guys! Ok, so I think that I've made up my mind, but I need you guys to confirm. I'm pretty sure I want to get the nexus 10 32gb, but I don't know if there's a better tablet out there(there probably is). So, if you guys could give me some info on that, that would be awesome.

Thanks,
Michael;)

This is my third android tablet (wife and son also each have one). I had the Moto Xoom and it was nice because it was unlocked (like this one) but it did not have the specs like the Nex10. I now have a Note 10.1 and it is a really nice tablet. The screen resolution, battery and snappier processor. I really like the S-Pen and the functionality that it brings for taking notes in class and meetings at work. And that is pretty much why I bought that tablet, to keep all of my notes organized.

My wife has the Sony S Tablet and she loves it. It has decent specs for the average user. She uses it to read and surf the net. My son has the Transformer Infinity with the dock. He loves it and it really flies. There are some games that it does not play and that tends to annoy him, but all-in-all it is a great tablet.

The Nex10 is an amazing tablet, it is quicker than any tablet that I have used, the graphics are phenomenal and the ability to do whatever I want is the icing on the cake. It is the perfect size and weight with a really nice feel in the hands. I do not regret getting this tablet.

this is a very subjective question.

you dont state what you will be using the tablet for (gaming, web, taking pictures, what apps) so it is almost impossible to to say that the nexus 10 is the best tablet ever made.

as far as web browsing on the nexus 10 using chrome, i can honestly say (and i have an ipad2 and a nexus 10 side by side in front of me right now) that the ipad browsing experience is better. it is smoother to scroll, smoother to zoom and faster. there is a "noticable" difference.

and i am not a troll, i hate apple, the apple legal team, what they stand for, the over priced crap and overpriced accessories that they sell, their stores, advertising, their fanboys and everything else.

i want to rid the house of ipads and i am trying to like the browsing experience on the nexus 10 but i am getting frustrated with it.

Try this and see if it helps.

Go to Settings, About Tablet, then keep tapping the build number, you will see a "countdown".keep tapping.
Under developer options go to..

Window animation Scale..set to .5x
Transition animation scale..set to .5x

Also, there is a setting for graphics acceleration. I can't remember the exact name, but try checking that.

Also, you might give Boat Browser a try. I spent about 6 hours last night on mine just surfing and watching videos here and there. I didn't have any problems. It was a joy to use and made me love this thing even more.

*edit* "there is a setting for graphics acceleration", that would be 'force GPU rendering'.

Google 'fanboy' checking in... definitely try a different browser. In my experience, the mobile Chrome browser stinks. I split my time between xScope and Opera on my Xoom and they're fantastic... I can only image how much better they would run on the N10.

Thanks everybody for the info. I will be using it for a little gaming, but not much. Mostly email, casual games, google +, and other things like that.
Thanks, Michael

I'm sure you will be happy with it with those requirements.

I was going to use mine for 90% web browsing but the chrome experience on the nexus was laggy, jumpy and somewhat slow.

Flick to scroll and pinch to zoom/expand was not as smooth as I would have liked.

I tweaked some developer options, tried other browsers and could not get it to be smooth like the ipad or surface. I factory reset the device a number of times and no change. This is with no other apps or data loaded onto the nexus 10. I called Google and they said it doesn't sound like a defective tablet. I returned it and ate the 15% restocking fee.

I would have thought that a google tablet with 15 or so google apps loaded from the factory would be as smooth as any tablet experience out there.

I am sure that the nexus 10 is great for people who want to root, load different bits / apps but all I wanted was a google tablet without bloatware (which it is) and an extremely smooth chrome experience.
