So first and foremost you need to visit Xda for Dsixda's Android Kitchen. One fo the best tools for beginners.
[KITCHEN] Android Kitchen, v0.216 [Linux / Mac / Windows] Once you have the Kitchen downloaded hit up this link for a tutorial on how to install Cygwin to your windows machine
Dsixda_Kitchen_Install_Picture_Tutor.zip (Thanks to carl1961 @ Xda for the install guide) Once Cygwin is finished installing if you havent already extract Dsixda's Kitchen to C:/Cygwin/Home/your username/kitchen/ After you have everything installed its time to setup adb (Android Debugging Bridge)
STEP 1: First download this file called
adbUnzip2Cdrive.zip, just click on the link, download will start automatically.
STEP 2: Put you phone into PC software mode and then go to Computer and install the drivers.
STEP 3: Now extract the zip file that we downloaded in the first step to C:/ drive and name the extracted folder ADB.
STEP 4: Now we will go to the desktop and right click to make a new shortcut.
STEP 5: Point the shortcut to ADB folder that we created in step 3, and name the shortcut ADB or whatever you want.
STEP 6: Now right click on that shortcut and go to properties and change START IN field to c:\adb.
STEP 7: Click Apply or OK and you are done. Click on ADB shortcut on the desktop and you are good to go.
