Problem answering calls

This happenned a few times today. Please help.

The phone rings, normally it comes out of sleep mode and I can press the "answer" button and I am set to talk.

Lately, the phone rings and remains dark, and I don't know how to answer the call.
Any suggestions? Please?

The phone/dialer app for the Eris is buggy IMO. It was on 1.5 and still is on 2.1 va/vb. I'll have the problem you're describing once every 40 calls or so. Only fixes Ive noticed are temporary and are simply clearing the call log and re-booting the phone. Phone works rather well for a few days then starts acting funny. Are you using any apps which may be messsing with your phone functions?

I'm running 2.1 so I can't remember if its different on 1.5 but....
Phone->button on the bottom right corner->Menu->Delete all

I clear call history by hitting phone button>menu>call history>menu>delete all>ok.

Two things to make calling and receiving calls easier on the Eris:

1) Use Call Log Trimmer (available in the market)
2) Use the hard answer and hangup (green and red) buttons rather than the soft buttons on the screen to answer and hangup a call.

These two things (especially number 2) will make your life much easier.

I don't feel like waiting for a phone call, so do I have to unlock the lockscreen first to answer using the green button?

ive got the same problem. after making/receiving a call the next call in or out would leave my phone with no sound. i tried everything that i could find on this site but had no luck. today i saw a post that said to uncheck the quiet phone on pickup option. did it and it seems to be working so far. ill report back later to let ya know how its going.

so far so good here. have been making test calls all day to try and make it mess up but its been doing fine (knock on wood). hope this is finally it!
