google did SOME good this time around

Well they limited the orders to 2 per person on one device separate so you could technically get 4 (nexus 4's) 2 of each.
Also made a pre-order type system that everyone wanted granted the time are horrible 8gb right now 8-9 weeks 16gh 4-5 weeks.
About the only good that came from this round of buying the device but the early ordering was a fail.

This time around is a double fail! 8-9 weeks? Seriously, that's positive? In all seriousness I could walk into Mercedes right now and have them build me a brand new car and have it shipped to the states from Germany in that time frame, most likely less!

This time frame , this method of ordering, the whole shindig just has screw up written all over it IMO...I know this has/will be Beatin to death, but just about the only good that came out of this is that maybe Google and its higher ups will sit down today and say...This can never happen again, we need to get our act together and do good by our faithful Android following, and make sure a launch in the future is handled 100% better then this one!

@ the OP...no negativity is directed at you my man, I just think alot of people are really annoyed at how both launches were handled... And until the people who really want this phone are able to log onto the play store and simply and very easily place an order without having to deal with errors and all sorts of issues, this will continue to be negative news towards Google.

A time frame is fine, but before taking orders I think they should take care of all the people that are still in limbo from the Nov 13th launch. This is Google we are talking about, the biggest Internet search Giant on earth! Oh well, hopefully they learn from this debacle!

The idea that they still had people waiting from the initial sale is pretty ridiculous. It leads me to wonder what with happen with the next sale, and every other sale.

But, yes, it's a positive thing that they have it available in the play store, regardless of the wait time, at least from one perspective: it will give people a choice. Order it from the Play store and wait a few weeks, or get ripped off by people who bought a bunch the first time or second time around and are trying to make a profit off of it. If the mere availability screws up the money making plans of just a few of those people while putting them out of the cash they paid to buy the extra devices, to me that is a GREAT positive.

I do think that Google could have done a better job. MUCH better job. No excuses there.

Man I disagree... and I'll tell you why

I'd rather Google chosen to go with HTC or even Moto, and sell an unlocked version of a Nexus at a much higher price, say maybe $499! Now before you say no way, let me explain...

Both HTC and Moto are capable of churning out tons and tons of phones with absolutely no issues towards meeting quantity demands, also they would have made a much better device IMO with better specs, HTC would have made a phone with a much better display and most likely no screen issues as far as sensitivity, or color saturation and what not, not to mention the DNA has an unbelievable camera and carries the same processor as the N4. As for Moto, jeez, Google owns them, a Nexus branded device by a company they own would make how much sense?

Now for the price, hey man you get what you pay for, and I'm in the camp of I'd rather pay more to get more. Not to mention, an unlocked phone for $299 or'$349 is 100% going to attract the scalpers and Internet eBay scum looking to have a big cash pay off. If this phone was $499 I could almost guarantee you there would be absolutely no issues with picking one up right now. And the reason why is because the Nexus brand has always been a niche type device, mainly made for developer use, and for people like us on Forums like this that want a Vanilla based Android experience. I have a real hard time agreeing that this device is getting that much attention from the general public. It's getting the attention by Internet scum taking full advantage of the system and somehow purchasing a very large quantity and then reselling them for upwards of $700-$1000 on eBay...if the phone was priced higher the demand wouldn't have reached these limits and people like me and you would have no problem picking one up right now. And couple that with LG maybe not being able to meet Googles demands, and then factor in Googles inability to sell retail items from they're play store correctly and you have a recipe for a BIG Giant mess...And here we are!

Oh, I'm not going to say no way. I'm just going to say that while this phone would be worth every penny at $499, I wouldn't personally pick one up. I would rock my Galaxy Nexus for another year and pick up the next Nexus. Basically, at $300, I will buy a new Nexus every year. At $500+, it would be every two years. That's just me, sure, but I think Google thinks there are more like me out there.

Now for the price, hey man you get what you pay for, and I'm in the camp of I'd rather pay more to get more. But then, I couldn't have gotten one either. But then, you might be right, and that might be the way to go. If I didn't get a new Nexus every year, I will still live happily.

definitely not Motorola i hate moto coming from the triumph they don't do support for it at all tho if google was with it i guess then updates would be pushed just don't see moto doing that lolz they don't want to release the source code for the triumph so cm9 will work so my triumph is stuck at cm7 granted cm9 works but no camera n i like having a camera on hand just a thought lolz

Just an FYI- Google owns Motorola! And the whole Razr line is pretty much as stock to Android as one can get without going Vanilla.

Also a Nexus with Razr Maxx battery capacities would please alot of people!
